New to pinning, just bought my first new setup thanks to JimHalupkula....Just wondering what kind of line everyone uses???  I was thinking about going with the cortland endurance, just trying to get a consensus of a good quality line..

Have not heard anything good about the cortland line.10lb,Siglon if you fish 4-6 tippet, any thing over 6 go to 12lb.i just spooled mine with 12,had on 10,was having problums with the mainline breaking when hung up on the bottom,or the occasional tree branch. There is a line from Ultima, called Flocast, it s supposed to be great, almost no line twist with it,BUT it is not recomended for water below 40.It turns brittle.Siglon seems to work the best of what I have tried.

I've ran the gauntlet of lines of over the past 9 years now with the pin. The only one i didn't like was optimum, it was very soft but strength wise wasn't there. Ande was good to me for the longest time but moved on to siglon f, now for the past 3 years its been endurance and i've had no problems with it. Very strong and haven't got the twists i did with other lines. Just my 2 cents

I currently have siglon f on in 12 lb. test but for the first 2 years I used trilene Xt in the solar color and I liked it. (all my tangles came out without having to cut the line). I don't think they still make the xt in the solar color but any xt should be the same?

I can't comment on the siglon yet as I leave the pin home till this month (Nov) and I haven't fished for a week.

Been using Siglon F on the pin and spin....has been good line...Others I've heard good things about are:

Cortland Endurance
Raven
Ande
Sufix Elite or Siege - raving reviews...I want to give this line a try soon.
Siglon FF

I got the backing you need Tim.

Siglon F or FF (if you can find any) 8lb for steels.
Heck, I even use 8lb for kings with 6lb leaders and it worked fine
It just seemed that cast was a lot smoother with 8 vs 10lb

Either way, you will be fine.

Hated the siglon. Loved Ironsilk, can't find it now though. Right now I am using the suffix siege and it seems ok, but no ironsilk. Regular mono is better than siglon.

Used Siglon f for years and really liked it. Tried some Raven, not real happy with it, in fact can't wait for it to get used up. Also had good results with Maxima.

You two should just hit the stop sign hole. With mxdad drifts and swinger swinging the whole dump....you would have the whole place to yourselves. hmmmm...I will see you two there Saturday at 9AM with warm coffee and doughnuts after you get it cleared out

OH
PS: Siglon, because it works well for me and it looks pretty through the holes on my reel. I prefer pink, but the only had chartreuse
