Weather Advisories:  EXCESSIVE TROPICAL RAIN EVENT INCREASING IN LIKELYHOOD ACROSS PORTIONS OF EASTERN NEW YORK AND WESTERN NEW ENGLAND FROM WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING.
.
The combination of an incoming strong upper level storm, a stalling frontal boundary over eastern New York, and an influx of tropical moisture, is expected to result in periods of torrential tropical rains over the region from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning. The forecast is complex as the zone of heavy rain will likely be quite narrow which makes determining which parts of the local area will receive the most rain difficult to forecast at this time. However, the potential is there for rainfall amounts by the mid afternoon on Thursday to range from 3"-5" with locally up to 7" possible in terrain favored areas. As the event begins developing on Wednesday, determining where the heaviest rain and subsequent greatest threat for flooding will occur will become more clear. .

Hey Reel, coincidentally am watching national geographics on global warming.. greenland melting is melting at an alarming rate. Up by my camp rt.206 a few creeks turned into raging walls of water. It was a killer flood and shut down that pass for two seasons ,one side of a mt. was hammered with 7 inches in about 20 minutes.  this is some amazing video footage.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GUa883XPe7E&feature=related i think the fish climbed the trees until the water receeded.
