being sick I did a little digging around and some looking back over the years. I had said I played hard in my youth with bikes & fast cars. Here are some that I could find.

This is my second bike 1975 honda 125 (I havent found any pic's of my other bikes)

My first stock car, I was 14 years old 1968 Dart GTS 340

Same car second year of racing and was unbeatable...
They started to take this car apart every win to see if it was cheating, it wasn't..

Next car was 1971 Cuda, same engine same results, winner !!!

Last car in the street stock class was this 70 Charger, another winner!!

We had something special going with that engine and dominated the field so thought about moving up to the big boys... Big Mistake. Could not compete with the corporate sponsors and huge money being put into these cars. The car & motor was just over $10,000. and In 1985 it would cost about $200.00 just to put the car on the track and not even be competitive, something I just could not afford.
So this was my last adventure into the motor sport. I raced this car 2 years before selling out and my best finish was 2nd which paid a big $700.00

1985 Show Car dirt modified...

the street stockers all at LV, the mod started at LV the first year then tried to make some money and raced only the big paying events. Hit the "DIRT" circut and raced middletown, malta, fonda, accord, rolling wheels, weedsport and syracuse.

Thats awesome RJ!!! My dad and I used to go to the valley every saturday from the age of about 5 till college. I bet I got to see you race!! I used to walk the track with my friends and pick up broke parts each night after the races while my dad drank beer in the pits with the racers he knew.

Man Tuna- those are some sweet photos!

Just like Lance, my old man used to bring me to the Fonda track and Lebannon Valley track quite a bit on Saturday nights...  I still remember the old days of seeing Jimmy or Jack Johnson (?) in Fonda all the time.

Am I remembering that right?  Was it him or some other Johnson?

Regardless, those pics are awesome.  The modified ride is serious!  Niiiiiice!

Holy Cow Brother...  Those names defintely bring back some memories from WAY back in the day!

Isn't it funny to think that you, RJ and I were all probably hanging out near that same dirt oval at the same time back in the 80s?  Whoa man, far out.  And now here we are in the new millenium chatting away on a computer during business hours.  "Way Back Machine" indeed.

Back in day if you heard the name "Jack Johnson" you immediately thought of dirt track racing.

Now I think of a Hawaiin Surf/Rock artist who's always hanging out with Dave Matthews.

Man, times sure have changed.

I raced with them all. Jumpin Jack was a great guy , always willing to help out. The Other Johnsons were hard chargers, Danny & AJ slideways Allen. For me to compete with Brett , the Johnsons, Bare foot Bob Macreedie (sp), Jimmy Horton, Super CD Covel & the rest of the gang was just insane. They had all the backin I had a $200.00 a week paycheck. It was fun but running in the back was lame. Should have stayed in the Street Stock class where I was king... The years were , street stock 1981>83 Mods, 84 & 85..
