wind is super important even with the best cover scents, clothes, etc. think about how much air you transfer just breathing in and out? snuff in your lip? BUSTED. haha, that being said, generally, not always, when the sun hits the ground in the morning and warms the air the air moves uphill. In the evening as the sun begins to set and the air cools it moves downhill into the valleys. again if there is a strong front moving through, this wont be the case. (i like to hunt saddles, tops of gullys, and off the ends of ridges. these areas are notorious for swirling winds), **the deer know this, and it gives them an idea of whats waiting for them up ahead, as well as if anything is following them. **now that parts just an opinion, but it seems to be the case. the big boys are truely genious, as well as old does. good luck, i hear that MM!! that kills me!
