Boy I sure wish i had a boat. I was introduced to wilmore this year. I am an avid trout fisherman but as for crappie i'm a rookie. I really thought that crappie fishing wouldn't be all that fun. Boy was i wrong!! I really like the size limit rule. I went out to wilmore about 20 times this summer. I am sorry i'm breaking in on this post as i  am new to this forum as well as crappie fishing and i could use all the advice i can get. Fishing for crappie was great june, and july but for me september has slowed down. Will crappie pick up again as it is getting cooler? How does that work. Do they bight better in the spring and fall. How about night or day? I fish from the bank but i hope to find a cheap boat soon.

Be sure to post up.  If the wife drags me up to the inlaws in Oct, if the fishing is decent, I may have to drag the boat and archery gear up with me!

Fished late morning until 3pm today and the fishing is very slow....  got a few slab gills no crappies but had many hits trolling.  Fish were not hitting it like last trip in august  water seemed to turn over.. seen a few nice bass break water early

I was there last week.  I had a few bites. But the condition of the restroom was disgusting. There was poop on the urinal, pee on the floor, and no toilet paper. I had to go and pee in the woods, because  I didn't want to sit down on that seat. It the restroom where the boat launch is. The care take there is not doing his job at keeping that  outhouse cleaned, and stocked with toilet paper. They are paying him to take care of that place, and he's not doing his job.

I just think that  caretaker was just being lazy. If  I see that bathroom in that same condition again, or worse, I'm calling the DNCR, and reporting him.

That sucks to hear. People just can't respect things. I don't spend alot of time there but it seams like they are really trying to make the place nice. I don't know if there is a caretaker is there? Prob just the fish wardens job to check it once in a while. Either way dont know how someone can do somthing like that.

In no way am i excussing the condition of the bathroom but have you guys seen the traffic let alone the many shady characters that pass through there on a given day? Mabye we should take a look at ourselves before we pass judgment. For instintce I pick up a bag full of trash others throw around EVERY TIME I'M OUT THERE. Second Many guys are keeping crappie well under 9". I've seen this person clean the restroom and let me tell you an hour after it's a mess. I sugest that we as responsible fishermen band together and turn these people in. After all this dam is drinking water and i consider it a priviledge that we can loose. This post is not to offend anyone, However i feel that this guy has his hands full.

i fished wilmore over 50 times this past year and had a blast with crappies===the size limit is perfect..  its funny how you get so many so **** close but ya cant pull the tail..  as for the caretaker--he has alot of cleaning to keep up with.. the place is a pigsty but he cant keep up with "OUR" ways of throwing garbage on the ground..  i was taught when i was young to never throw your line ya bite off on the ground or in the lake. i just wish everyone would pick up after themselves..

and if your sittin down to pee in the mans bathroom you deserve a little **** on your ass!!!!       be a man and find a tree!!
