Figured I'd fire up a thread for any of the other gamers out there, if you have a 360, Wii, or PS3 and want to chat it up, this will be the place...

Any other gamers out there picking up Call of Duty 4 for the Xbox 360?  The trailer looks wicked and from what I've heard from friends that have played it, it's worth it.  This one is set as modern warfare, which is a change from the normal WWII theater that CoD is known for.  Looks amazing though.

Yeah man I've seen COD4, it looks amazzaing. I dont have an Xbox360 yet but before christmas it'll be here. I'm more or less a NHL2k8 kind of guy. Sports games or my cup of tea. I used to play a multitude of computer games as well, Star Wars Galaxies, World of Warcraft, and Delta Force :Black hawk down.

Overall 360 owns PS3

put any of tom clancys games, socom, metal of honor and halo together and they dont even compair to how great cod4 is.  im more of the maddens and ncaa and final fantasy fan and gta III  but i actually find myself enjoying this game.

Metal of honor and socom were both addicting when first released. but they are nothing compaired to COD4 its going to get a 10 out of 10 or pretty dam close.

360 owns ps3 but Wii owns them all.

I hear Halo 3 is nothing more than Halo 2 with better graphics.  I don't know, I'm not a Halo fan, I had 2 for the regular Xbox and never got into it.  People are playing the hell out of Halo 3 so it can't be that bad.  I guess my main issue is the general Halo crowd is a bunch of foul mouthed 12 year olds.  Not that you don't get that every game, but it just seems more prevalent there.

At any rate, Bioshock owns them all.  That is one of the best games I ever played.  Great story, great game play, and visually stunning.  If you have a 360, look into it.

You're right about the chit talking in Halo but Halo 3 there were a lot more improvements since 2.  The main thing is there is always a game and it's fun to play.  I've heard about BioShock but isn't is just single player?

I just love sticking grenades to guys in Halo -- now the game automatically saves up to 25 of the last games you've played so if you want you can even go back and watch from each player's perspective of what's going on and also move your point of view from virtually anywhere on the map and watch the action.  Pretty neat stuff if you want to go back and watch each game (not my thing) but just a cool feature.

That does sound pretty cool.  I can watch how they killed me again and again...

And yeah, Bioshock is only single player, but a cool game for sure.

Deadbolt,

Is the NHL 2k8 better than the 2k7?  Love playing the 2k7 and wondered if it was worth getting the 2k8.  BLACK is a cool game on the PS2 and the Tiger Woods golf is great - if only I could actually get the 100 million plus I have won - beat his tour total in 2.5 years (not real time).

Was NHL '93 the NHLPA one?  That was the year there were no NHL team logos, just the name of the city?  I also believe that was the game that Lemieux was rated a 99 and Darren Rumble was rated a 2...  A friggin 2, that's awesome.

Anyone else pick up Brothers in Arms: Hells' Highway?  The entire game is based on the 101st Airborne and Operation Market Garden.  Great game!  It's a first person shooter, but squad based, kind of like Rainbow Six Vegas, but WWII style.  Nothing quite like calling bazooka fire in on a MG42 bunker.

If you get a chance to check it out, go for it, you won't be dissapointed.

playing the game (esp COD4) and online play are both awesome

i mainly play halo but occasionly i play COD4

the online play for halo3 is sooo much better than halo 2

more maps, vehicles, and a few more weapons

i was a beast at COD3 online but not so much with 4...

I had space invader and pac-man machines at my house in the early 90's

I was addicted to Doom and Area 51 on PC for a while about 8-10 years ago but somehow lost interest in gaming.

Lately I have been thinking about buying a Wii
I sold 3 at Christmas for the big bucks but now with the price stable I might get one for myself

The Wii is a good time, it's a good family system with a lot of games that are fun for everyone to play.  Every now and then, when we have people over, we'll bust out Mario Party 8.

PS3 Rainbow6Vegas2 is off the chain! I have played CoD4 also, again awesome! Waitin for the Christmas sale on the system. They started out for the 40 gig at $499 and now they are $299. Wahtin' for them to go down. Although a PS3 for 3 bills is reasonable enough. First game I'll buy is R6V2 though. Turok isn't bad either but the load time is rather long.

I wasn't all that impressed with RB6V2.  It wasn't much better graphically than the original Vegas.  They just added some guns, and some new maps.  I will say that I like the experience ladder better on 2 and I do like the fact that you can switch from single player to co-op seamlessly, but I sold Rainbow 2 and held on to the orginal.

Now Call of Duty 4 on the other hand, that game is bad ass.  There is a new CoD coming out soon, "World at War", it's back to WWII, but it's from the same people who made CoD3.  The Call of Duty after that one, is being made by the same company that made CoD4, so that one should rock out.

Brothers in Arms is made by Ubisoft as well, the same company that made RB6.  Same engine and AI pretty much.

Not sure there is one really.  The 360 and the PS3 have both been out for a while, as has the Wii.  PS3s are lying around everywhere.  Wii's are still super hard to find.

The most modern gaming-only platform I've owned was the NES...or the old, original Game Boy (which I still have, and still works!).  The last ones I played alot on were N64 which friends had and Wii, which I played at school a few years ago.  cooljauman is dead nuts on the hilarious good time that drunken Wii bowling is!  My friend got the thing for Christmas and pretty much bowled constantly till he came back so he would be the undisputed master.

Well, needless to say, third timeI tried it, we were all having a good time and I just hit a streak. Final score of 286 with 8 strikes in a row!  About six strikes into it, I was to well lit to attain proper posture, and settled for playing seated on the couch with a beer in the other hand, and still managed 2 more strikes.   My buddy was furious.

No, these days, what little gaming I do is on the computer.  I play Guild Wars on and off, as well as a play-by-post RPG or two.  Just recently I picked up Spore and am liking that.

I have the reflexes of a drugged toad, so the FPS games aren't really my thing.
