I may be wrong here but my understanding is that the size limit on LM Bass at Twin Lakes is 15". And bad limit 3 or 5....not sure at this time of year....Maybe it is not my business.
Yesterday as I passed a family fishing from the ramp just past the shop on lower lake I saw the father place a bass into a keeper net along with about 5 others, the biggest being around 8". A small boy also passing went up to the father and told him of the size limit. The man snarled back..."They ARE 15!" I too informed him of the law .... he ignored me, made another cast and bagged another bass about 7".
Made me angry...I went into the boathouse and informed the teenage girls working in there of the situation and asked them to contact the park cops to come down and do one of their usually frequent license checks. The girls looked at me as if I was some kind of old fool...but picked up the 'phone. I left and did some fishing....meanwhile the "family" continued to fill their bag. The park cops drove past the area a few times but never left the car and the poachers left with a very heavy bag of bass. Made me sick when I think of how the regulars here take such pains to preserve the fishery.
Someone didn't do their job.
Who is responsible for this? Park police or Fish Commision?

Dennis.

I would use the contact the PFBC and let them know this is going on out there.  I had a problem last year a Crannyberry Glade with people doing the same and contacted them the next few times I was out there I saw them come by and check some people and one time they check me too.

The park (Westmoreland Co.) cops have NO jurisdiction over fishing violations.  You would need to contact the Fish Commission on that one.

I recently discussed this situation with the park police.Park regulations require anyone using the parks to obey PFC & PGC rules along with park rules. If the park police find you in violation, such as no license, over the limit, undersized fish etc. they will,& have written citations resulting in fines. Then they will forward that info to the proper comm. who then will investigate & then probably issue you a fine also.   sam
