Even us cityslickers can get some trout. The Wynantskill winds through the east side of Troy and powered the old Burden Iron Mill. It empties into the Hudson north of the Menands Bridge. I got kicked out of this great spot the next time I went to it by some construction guy. Private ownership of a state stocked stream really sucks.  I got into a few decent trout right behind the legendary South End Tavern (go thursdays for the corned beef and cabbage). Here's one that was about 15½"

I think that they need to own or lease BOTH sides of the river to post it . And they are not allowed to post navigable water . That being said . I posted a spot along the Mohawk once .
