Does anyone know of any good trout streams in or near cooks forest? I heading up there camping for the weekend with my buddy that just got of of the Marines. He's been dying for a trip to the mountains since his 2 tours in Iraq, and i'd like to help him out. He really enjoys wild trout fishing. Any info would be appreciated.

TRY FISHING CLEAR CREEK STATE PARK, CLEAR CREEK IS A SMALL MT.STREAM WITH SOME GOOD ACTION. ITS JUST BELOW COOKS FOREST .

Clear Creek is ABOVE cook forest and is a fair place to consider it gets stocked fairly regular in April and May..

Not too many wild streams in that area...

The Clarion River should stay good until the week-end it's always good for just some plain old GOOD FISHING FUN....

Most of the Jefferson County streams listed have been pretty much fished out....IMO

I am hearing of trout still being caught in Brockway on the Toby Creek.. in spite of the water conditions...

Also trout being caught in the Clarion at Portland Mills (Bear Creek stocked recently)

And the fish from the Heath Township Hatchery have been put into the Clarion River...

in cooks forest you have toms run which is small but nice hiking up stream
just next to cooks forest is cathers run pretty small but stocked more often
another close by is maple creek, take maple creek rd.
from clarington go up stream to bridge and you have millstone runs to loletta and more
and then you have tionesta , larger , stocked well and a lot of hiking up or down
if on tionesta take your, friend to couger bobs for a cold one, then from there take
the road behind it to salmon creek , pretty wild
anyway i hope you and your friend have a good time he deserves it.

WARNING ---

The Clarion at Heath Pump station area WILL BE PACKED THOUGH

so keep that in mind.... "the annual dumping of the breeder trout" always brings large crowds to that area for Memorial Day week-end..

PLUS folks on canoes if the weather is good...

Has anyone ever fished Logan Rn, i saw it was a wild trout water on the fish and boat website?

A question about Millstone creek. Is that above clairington, i'd guess 3-5 miles? I believe i fished it one day with no trout, but did land big smallie. Is it a beautiful looking srteam that is mostly crystal clear?

i fished toms run this year and caught a lot of fish but all dinkers...also like said before this weekend they dump the breeders in the clarion which will have some lunkers but also crowds

you can get to millstone either by taking river rd. in clarington or
head toward lotteta out of marinville, if you have kids or just
want to relax & still fish you can fish the dam in loetta st. park,
if you want to fish a long strech ofwater turn right on the dirt rd.
which will take you to where it enters the clarion, lots of places
to pull of & park and very scenic area , good wading, lots of wild
life.
you can also fish up stream from the dam altho not much water
that part you can drive for miles and miles along a dirt one lane road
whic does have pullover areas in case you meet a on coming vehicle
if you do this at the first intersection turn right and it will take you
to marinville, if you go straight you will come to spring creek at
the c c camp, turn left and you come to pigeon
all in all a very nice ride but have gas in your vehicle.

If you have a Pennsylvania Atlas and look at just about any remote stream (named or un-named) flowing into the Clarion in the area you should find wild trout. Good luck. The best part of it all is finding new water and having the stream to yourself. All ya need to do is give a little hike toward the effort.
