Keep em rollin....sometimes those waves bring in fish as good as rainfall....get the "surge" going on Elk...

I'd fish it!  Just use jigs...they work great in a little bit a chop like that...

Those waves yeaterday looked like waves right out of the north atlantic. When I looked down at Elk I thought there must have been some horrific rains south of the lake but as it turned out it was only back up water from the waves pushing the water into the stream. One minute your drift was down stream then it would turn and go up stream. Went to Walnut and saw a few pods of fish coming out of the waves and moving up steam - nothing to get too excited about. The wind was so strong that if you held your fly rod straight up the wind could hold almost 20 feet of line out perpendicular to your rod. Intermitten gusts would bring your line right back into your face.

The weather man said the wind would subside by noon - I think he failed to mention noon the next day.
