Does anyone have any hatch info. on this river. I can't find much print about this creek anywhere, in fact there is not much info on it anywhere...any suggestions, any web sites would be appreciated.

april-may= blue quills #18
              hendricksons & red quill #14
              tan caddis #14
may-end of may= light stone fly #14
middle may to june= march browns #12
                          choclate dun #12
                          light cahills #14
                          slate drakes #12 &14
                          brown drakes #10 #12
june thru sept.=    slate drake #12
                         blue quills #18
this is out of meck's book pa. trout streams

deer hair caddis's with brownish and dark olive bodies do well when caddis's are about from #16-#12
right now with the water warm i'de try insects if you're fishing top water. the last couple times i've been out there in the past month nothing has been going on. not even the smallmouth are active. don't know what's happened but i don't waste my time and head for the clarion for smallmouth and trout.
i would think that around the cooler creeks that flow in the tionesta that there might be some eager fish but i haven't found any thus far.

I fished it tuesday. I managed to catch trout and smallmouth. Nothing on top but nymphs(tan caddis) and wets(picket pins) caught trout and hellgremmite pattern took some hog smallies (4 of them betwwen 16 and 20 inch.) The trout were all rainbows in fast water. I tried the kinzua tailrace and caught a couple in the early a.m. but the current was too stiff to fish it effectivly all day so I headed to Tionesta (glad I did). I saw a lot of nice river and became enchanted with it a bit. I will return in the fall. Thank you for the charts...
