Anyone else heading up this weekend? I'm planning on fishing this Saturday. The weather doesn't look the best though.

Anyone heard any Wallleye reports for the waters between Lampe and Northeast?

I'll be there either Sat or Sun, haven't decided which yet. We've been fishing out of Walnut so no info on the more Eastern ports. Wind and waves don't look too bad for the weekend with 1 to 2's and 2' or less with South and South West winds, just have to dodge the boomers.

Good luck!! See ya on the water.

Oops, I stand corrected, 1 to 3's and 2 to 3's. Could be a little more interesting.

CB, post your results from Friday, maybe I'll try out of Conne on Sat or Sun. Although we did very good out of the nut last week.

Haven't been to Conneaut in a while. Last time I was there (I think it was '00 or '01), the water level was low and it was difficult for me to launch my boat (at the time, it was a 22ft Proline). Has the water level raised enough so that is no longer the case?

Is Snug Harbor bait and tackle still there?

Yep its still there.

Wont be able to get any reports up for ya till sunday.  Staying up for 3 days guys....I hear the fishing out there is pretty decent so i figure id spend a day out there just to see whats going on.  Its alot better driving out west by truck than running a boat clear down there from Walnut...

I may be out of the nut Saturday and Sunday depending on how the day out of OH goes. We'll see!

Hope the weather doesnt hit while fishing...good luck to everyone!

What's everyone think about the forecast for tomorrow? I'm still thinking about heading out.

2 to 4s don't concern me all that much and we won't be heading too far out.

Thoughts ?

2 to 4's aren't too bad while trolling with them, hard to maintain speed and control while running against and harder to get off the lake quickly if the weather turns. I have a 23' walk around but those 4 and 5 footers will still beat you to death at any speed. I'll be watching the forcast closely and will probably call Walnut tonight before deciding which day. The real saving grace may be if the Walleye are still in fairly close. I've had the forcast be wrong both ways so many times that it's hard to make the call based on them alone. Good luck whichever day you go!

Neither day looks good, but I don't like that temperature drop on Sunday. 11 degree difference between Saturday and Sunday's high temp. So I'm leaning towards heading out on Saturday.

I'll be heading out of presque isle bay.

They're calling for winds out of the south. If that's the case, I could run down to walnut, staying in the shallow, more protected water.

Thinking the same way, except I'll be going out of Walnut. If the fish haven't moved too far, it should be good. We caught our limit between Walnut and Trout Run Saturday before last and were never deeper than 40'. Couldn't fish last week, was suffering on the beach in Delaware fishing in what appears to be the Dead Sea.

I have been reading your discussion of fishing Erie this weekend. Someone mentioned calling Walnut for a weather report. Is that the launch at Walnut Creek. If it is how do I get the number. I fish Erie occasionally and want to fish it more. I fish Shenango Lake, Pymatuning, and Wilhelm.

Thanks gizmos.  I'll give the number a try. Are there any other numbers for Erie weather info and fishing info?

Didn't do well on Saturday. Ran from Lampe, to way west of Walnut. Trolled depths ranging from 20 to 35 FOW. Ended up with only 2 eyes by early afternoon. Caught a good deal of junk fish. Some enormous sheephead. From the info I got later in the day, it sounds like the guys catching fish were out deeper.

On a positive note, the trolling bags I got from Amish Outfitters worked perfectly.

Gonna give it a try again in two weeks.

Anybody do any good east of Walnut ?

Let's just say that Saturday was not the best day to be on the lake. Beautiful day, BIG waves. Some crazy people up there. Saw several of those low riding bass boats and some smallish aluminums with low transom height.

Oh well, next week is another opportunity.

Sounds as though the fish have moved out though.

And yes, that is the number for the office at Walnut.
