I Just wanted to take a minute and tell you all about the great experience I just had fishing the Pro/Am tourney aboard the Vision Quest. Although the weigh in is still taking place things look "reel" good for Captain Pete and his first mate Kevin. We boated well over 15 Walleye within the first 2 1/2-3 hours of fishing A couple that could hang on any fishermans wall. The Steel Head were not biting much but we still mananged 5 decent sized Steelies.

The boat was top notch stem to stern, the Cappy and Mate were not only Fantastic Anglers and true professionals but awesome dudes to fish with. If you guys need an able bodied seaman for next years tourney Ill be first in line.

Anyway, Thanks for a great day on the lake Pete, Kevin, Mike (our Official Observer) Fellow anglers Dan, Chris and Noah It was real pleasure fishing with you all on what may have been my best freshwater experience to date. Chris, if you stop by the store bring your calendar, I want a date for that Muskie trip soon!

Pete is something else...

I think he can find and catch Steelies in a warm cup of water.  I have met few if any that are as consistently good.  If it was the Bassmasters out there, he would be running with KVD.

Some MONSTER boxes out of the Pros Sat. & Sun.  Congrats to Pacific Time, both VQs, Capt. Czarnecki and the Wolfman and Shirley B on day 1 for some IMPRESSIVE boxes.

It was a DIFFICULT fish, but some guys (Todd, Pete, Paul, etc.) on the Pro side excelled in the difficult conditions.

Pacific Time had a 100#+ box today with only 16 fish.  Wolfman had some walleyes today (Sunday) that looked like your leg...

When your know as a great fishermen among your peers thats what the difference is, the guy has been a top notch Capt for 25 years he has learned a few tricks and competes at a high level in all tournaments. I agree with Matt the guy is an amazing fishermen at so many different species. Matt had a fantastic weekend, I am glad he won hes been right there for 3 years now. He put it all together for a whole weekend no need to toot your own horn, guys that are good dont need to tell everyone else how good they are.

Them darn steelhead! Wait till I figure those fish out on a consistant basis you boyz are in trouble! Take a look at the box we had 13 fish 82.25 pounds and we could have had heavier both days BUT spent 5 hours looking for steelies! Seems I couldn't fish the deeper waters due to a factory mistake in the programming on my Lowrance Gps. My US boundary line is off by quite some distance! Thats a seperate discussion though! As far as Pete being something else.... He knows the lake thats for sure BUT there were many good fisherman at the tourny and they all deserve a round of applause! Good Luck Fishin' see ya on the water!
