What's up with Sugar Lake? Two of us fished it today (7-14-08) for four hours and caught one 8 inch perch. I know guys ice fish the lake and do ok on the panfish at times. Does anyone do any good the rest of the year there? Thanks for any info on Sugar Lake.

I was there less than a week ago and fished it hard with two other guys. We caught a few but not nearly the amount of bass we typically catch. The water is relatively cloudy and the weather hasn't helped much either. This is mid-summer fishing.... I fish this lake ~20 times every summer and have never had as bad a day as I did last week. Keep pluggin at sugar and it will turn for you. Sugar has always been a good bass numbers lake for us but we haven't pulled anything bigger than 4-5lbs out. It is not uncommon to land 20 fish there on a day. We fished a couple lakes right near sugar in the last two weeks and the bite hasn't been very good for us compared to years past.
