Fish them both, and both produce very nice numbers of slabs!

Hey crappiechuck,
I assume you are talking about Kahle Lake near Knox. Do you fish it much for crappie? Do you do very well? I have caught a few there, but haven't spent a lot of time there.

I think pymatuning produces large crappies more consistantly than shenango, but I dont often catch big numbers of them... my biggest pymy crappies have come while walleye fishing lol

Was out last night. Not sure what the temp is, but the lake has dropped about 1 1/2 feet from what it started at this spring. Still hitting the shallow crappie at night.

After last night I would have to say pymy.  Nice slabs 12"-14" were hitting pretty good.

Hey these 2 bodies of water arent that far apart. Dig a canal connect the two and we can call it the Pymanango.

I've been hitting Chautauqua pretty hard the last couple of weeks.  I've caught a couple real monsters, but they are back in deeper water staging for that 60 degree water...still catching them shallow, but mostly smaller males...the hefty ladies are being coy in 12-15' water...for now.
The locals are saying this is the best year for slabs (or calico as they call them) in 25 years.
