Please excuse my ignorance,  I don't look at the reports page much any more, but I have noticed the absence of the Poor Richards  reports. Has something happened??

It seems that since Poor Richards closed its east side store that they decided it was too much trouble to post reports as they have as much business as they can handle at the west side store.  Your best bet is to call them at 814-474-5623 and ask for a report.

OK,but does anybody  actually know what happened.. They ran stream reports daily long before the east side store existed.  And nobody makes alot of money in the fishing business.

You'd probably get a better answer stopping in and asking them in person.I have nothing to do with them or any other tackle shop, SO THIS IS JUST SPECULATION,BUT, I'd bet that all 3 tackle shops quit posting reports for the same reason so many other people have stopped posting.  So they didn't have to deal with the B.S. that goes on here.   All the tackle shops have to deal with plenty of that type of stuff in the shop everyday, they don't have the time to deal with it on here.

Stop in East End Angler for a complete stream report. East End Angler, 4702 East Lake Rd. Right next to Partners. All the east side creeks are loaded with fish plus many new ones are ariving daily. Kirk or his wife Lynne will be more than happy to help you. Their store is between 4 & 7 mile creeks on the North side of the road with very easy access right on Rt 5. They will clean your fish or exchange for a smoked one.

Mainly because stream, and fishing conditions are highly subjective. A report may be viewed as quite honest, and accurate by ONE angler, while viewed as the opposite by ANOTHER. Posting reports, can unfortunately place a shop in a NO WIN situation.

Do you really need a reports page?? It is fall and steelhead are in all the streams! Learn to do a little walking and not just park and expect to walk 50 yards from car and have a day of catching and not fishing!  I walk explore different sections and have covered several miles of Elk on many a day to get away from the crowds and find a large pod of fish to myself. It is not easy to get away from crowds the last several years, but your have the ability to try amd footwork is best bet.
I have also went out of my way to help novices and children hook into and catch their first steelhead. Seeing the look on their faces really makes my day!
Reports are for people who want to jump in their car drive and expect to catch 3 fish in no time flat! Fishing is to relax and have a good time with friends and stangers alike.

I think the report page is a helpful tool.

I mean, it's fine for people who live even 20 minutes away to want a report on the streams.
I just think there should be a moderator there, who just goes through and deletes the BS posts, and leaves the regular ones. Not hard at all.

And no, not suggesting it's me.

Steelheaders #1, Thanks for your unsolocited opinion, I am quite sure your are a superior steelheader. But I would guess you you haven't walked the miles I have on tribs in NY,Oh,and Pa. I ask about Poor Richards becouse I wondered if they got sick and tired of idiots bashing them about "optomistic reports"  Those of us who have chased steelhead for any period of time in the Grt Lkes region know how quickly weather and the whim of the fish change. I wonder if you were a Poor Richards critic. But I agree with one point you make, get off the computer and get out and find fish yourself. Learn to read the weather ,the water, and a damn map, Then you too will become an addequite Steelheaders.  Oh and by the way thanks for letting us know what a great mentor you are, teaching patience and tolerence would be a good thing too.

You caught me in bad mood.
