I fish this lake more than anyone I know....Hit it three times this week already.  Fish are sluggish...I did alot better early morning or late in the evening and even in the dark.  Fish were hitting any minnow shaped rapala, preferably the countdown.  Any size.  Walleye, sauger and smallmouth have been prevalent.   Caught six largemouth the other day on plastic worms and tubes also.  Slug go's and jitterbugs in the evening.  Good luck buddy.

I fished there not more than 1 month ago. A pretty slugish lake, full of slugish fish. Pretty popular among beach goers, and is hit pretty hard by anglers, mostly bait fisherman. It is stocked but with the heavy fishing most of the stocked fish are gone in 3 weeks (rainbow trout). I also gave Raccoon Creek (one of the tributaries) a try and to no avail. Clear water, and fished out no more than 10 days after stocking. Did notice a Brook and acouple rainbows some baiters took out. Decent holes, but its August.. most of them are gone with the hot weather. Good luck, oh yeah and if Raccoon creek lake doesn't work out I really would look at the tributaries! Most are overlooked! Good luck my friend.

I have been reading that Raccoon lake has some pretty big largemouths. They put in a lot from Dutch Fork.
Been thinking of going out there some weekend.

My apologizes Timachro. I didn't notice you replied to my post. Yeah, being up there acouples times this year I could tell bass fishing was pretty big among the locals. Talk to any of the guys up there and they'll probably give you the low down. Did see a guy take out a pretty big bass, not sure about size (not much of a bass fisherman). I'd give spoons a try. The guy I was talking about earlier I saw was using a 1/6 ounce little cleo. Give it a try. Good Luck!

Boy did I get a suprise there tonight. Headed out around 6pm. Usually fish the spillway. Went down and the spillway is about 2 feet low, meaning that in its deepest part right now its only about 3-4 feet max. Saw a ton of fish swimming around and chasing bait. The water is so shallow that anything that moves kicks up a pretty large dust trail, and the way it was tonight it got muddy fast in spots. Couldn't catch sh*t though.. Saw quite a few bass. A couple nice ones too, but no takers on anything.  Definately never seen it that low.  It almost looks like they drained it some and took some fish out in the process. I used to see muskies in there and I thought it was a hell of a lot deeper than it was. Guess I was wrong. I wonder if they took fish out and put them back up in the lake? Anyone know?
