Hello. Looking for some help. I am a non resident and my question is do I need to buy a trout stamp and lake erie stamp in additional to the regular license if I am only fishing the elk, walnut, 12....
What if I decide to fish the mouth of trout run. Do I need the erie stamp?
Also, I recall a place where you can buy the license online and print off the license. Can't seem to find that anymore. Any direction would be appreciated.

Yes and Yes. You might want to know that you can buy a 7 day, 3 day or 1 day non-resident license and save a few bux

Go to the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commision website to purchase the license online

Dave,

I am not sure about this but makes sense you would need the additional stamps. Call Walnut Marina as they sell licenses there and probably have the most accurate information. (That's where I got the below information). I would think you need a combo trout\erie stamp. Normally need the combo stamp if fishing any trib that enters into Lake Erie, PA. The only exception I know of is Conneaut which exits in Ohio, but travels through PA.

A strange fact but true........If you buy a 1 day non-resident license you do NOT need the additional stamp, but if you are a resident and buy a 1 day license you need to buy the additional stamps. That whay I am unsure with you having a non-resident season license.

Thanks for the replys. I found this on this site just after posting.

Starting in 2005 and continuing through 2008, anglers need a Lake Erie Stamp to fish for any species in the Lake Erie watershed (including Lake Erie, Presque Isle Bay and the Lake Erie Tributaries). Remember that to fish for steelhead, salmon or trout in Lake Erie or the Lake Erie tributaries you will need either a combination Trout/Lake Erie Stamp, or both a a Trout Stamp and a Lake Erie Stamp. Holders of a one day tourist license do not need either stamp.

Also food for thought: If you only have one or two days fishing between now and December 1, you might want to hold off buying a yearly until then, since the licenses purchased after Dec. 1 are good immediately through 2009. I cannot tell for certain if this is the case with a non-resident license, but would be worth the inquiry.

The non-resident also runs from Dec 1 of 08 - Dec 31 of 09. I know my brother buys his in Dec every year and has never been given a problem for showing his "next years" license while fishing in Dec.

Whatever you do, and for residents too, get your license online then print several copies. If you lose your license you can usually get a replacement cheap but you'll pay full price to replace any stamps. If you buy online and make copies, you'll never have to worry about a replacement or having to buy new stamps.
