Anyone having any luck on the Ohio near Emsworth?  I believe this is the time of year when I was getting walleyes and saugers on almost every cast on the backchannel. 

Heading out Friday and will post results.

Status: offline 		30 saugers, 2 bass, and 1 15" rainbow trout between two of us on Tuesday night right against the dam. McKees Rocks Side. All Saugers were between 8 and 15 inches.

Status: offline 		i was there yesterday and got 1 sauger and snagged a hefty carp. i dunno whats going on last year and years past was great. this year has been slow. Where montour dumps in has had a couple small walleye pulled out like 15 inches and flaugherty has seen a couple also.

Status: offline 		lotsa people down there last night. Action was a little slow, guys chuckin shad raps were gettin saugers and we were getting some on jigs. Nothing fantastic, the biggest highlight was that the emerald shiners are back an running up near the **** dam. That usually is a good thing in years past once it warms up some more and the bass get really active on them.

Status: offline 		Well, the steelhead part was a joke, but catchin rainbow trout there, or anywhere in that 3 mile stretch from the dams up to coraopolis is no joke! Ive caught em, and seen em caught by others. They come from Montour creek and Big sewickley creek, and some survive for a long time.

Status: offline 		Went last night.  Only one sauger on the first cast and a few bites.  Seems like everyone on the river left at the same time - 15 minutes before the Penguins game.

Status: offline 		Went down to dashields on sunday. Couldn't keep the catfish off of a creek chub (6 in). Ended up with 8 walleye, one broke my line about 10 feet out! It was gigantic atleast 5 lber. It was a good morning cool with a good chop on the water

Status: offline 		just came home from emsworth had 5 good runs but was only able to hook up with a 10lb flathead. all where on live and dead gills mostly the dead ones.was there from 8 p.m. till about 12:30 didn't start to bit till about 10. there was a couple of other guys fishing for eyes and saguer they got about 10-15 sauguer and one eye. anyone else hitting flats from the big o either from shore or boat. oh ya i was fishing from the wall in front of the lock. i would of stayed longer but it started to storm,figured since they were bitting it had to start raining lol.

Do you mean from Beaver down river towards Shippingport? Give below the Mongomery Dam a try. Definately worth checking out in my opinion. You can't get very close to the dam by boat, but the shore fishing on the Midland side is good and you can get pretty close to the dam there. Just be careful on the rocks. I have fished the dam by boat before but I had to lock through because I don't believe there is another public launch below the dam that is in Pennsylvania.

PM if you want to know how to get there to fish from shore. Not going to post it on here though because you have to walk across one set of train tracks to get there. Since technically thats private property of the railroad, I don't want to hear guys bit(hing about it. Thats the only way to do it and I've yet to hear of anybody catching any flack about it.

I used to live down that way. There are some good spots along the river on the industry side, just look for parking areas and you'll find a few spots. Like mentioned above, the dam is great.

On the other side of the river is a small stream which is pretty good fishing as well, don't know the name of it but there is access to it from a small road, it's before the power plant going west. No specific spot there again, just look around and you'll see the areas.

Status: offline 		Thanks for the tips!! I was not sure of the details there. I will have to do some more advanced scouting now that I am pointed in the right direction. I've made the trip from Hookstown and back to Beaver a few times and immediately was tempted to know if there was good fishing. haha

Are you talking about the creek coming into the river above the Mongomery Dam? If so, I believe that is Raccoon creek. There is a warm water discharge close to the mouth.

The creek that empties into the Beaver river below the last dam is Bradys Run.

The creek that enters the Ohio river on the Beaver side (in beaver) is called Twomile Run. Below Twomile going towards midland, and below the Montgomery dam, is Sixmile run. Raccoon creek is half way between Twomile Run and the Montgomery dam on the other side of Rt. 68.

With that being said, which creek are you talking about? I'm sure its one of those.
