Alleghenys been flowing hard for the past week or so. It was real off color and about 2 ft above normal today. Also lots and lots and lots of leaves.

The Ohio is fishing really well starting about 1/2 hr. before dark and going for awhile, although I've been catching fish throughout the day. The Flow is heavy, but theres always current breaks around. The past two nights the fish wanted to see jigs/plastics fished on the quicker side. Use a little bit heavier jighead and reel, jig, reel, jig....keeping it just off bottom.

Lots of fish breaking surface close to shore after the sun goes down. They been running the baitfish all the way to shore so a lot of hits have been coming within 10 feet of the shoreline. Try throwing plastics that are 4" or smaller. Black and white/silver have been hot colors the past week for plastics. Rapala x-raps and small spinners are doing decent for hard baits.

Bigcat, where do you plan on fishing?

Be sure to try some flukes in smoke and some paddle tails. Berkleys realistix power minnows have been producing well too. Don't be afraid to try the 3". They look almost too small, but the fish have no trouble seeing them. They are a little bit bigger than the baitfish that have been close to shore, but are a decent match. The pearl blue shad has been the best producer, but I think they are a discontinued color........I've been having a hard time finding them. If you can't find those, try the black shad or smelt colors.

Good luck and let me know how you did.

I'm probably gonna fish at montour run, I'd like to try the dam, but probably can't get down the side to fish since my knee surgery. I'll definitely let you know how I did carphead

Any of you guys happen to get the water temp?  I thought the USGS had that info.  I'll have to search a bit harder.  The flow looks pretty nice to get in a later season wade.

I'm gonna try hitting up the Ohio again this weekend.  Might bring a catfish pole and try to get a catfish before they go into winter mode.

I was using a jig and a realstik and didn't get anything then switched to a shallow running crank and got a sauger first cast.  It seemed like when it started to get a little dark the baitfish were everywhere.

The pics of that musky was probably the one from this past early spring. That fish was caught twice in three days back in I believe early April. I saw it caught both times and while its been said its 45", thats bullsh1t. Its was a nice sized fish, but not that big. The girth is what makes that fish look so big. I'd say about 32"-34", but the girth of that thing was unreal.......full of eggs I assume. The thing looked as big around as it was long(exageration of course, but big nonetheless). Its funny how fish size gets exaggerated.
