Guys, I've been giving this allot of thought and I don't think we can afford to have a black president. Think about it... the movies have showed us that every time a black man is the president of the United State, the planet is almost destroyed., Star Trek IV, Deep Impact, The Fifth Element the list goes on...even a black sheriff stirred up trouble in Blazing Saddles....can we afford that kind of change..I don't think so..

Your thoughts...

I'll stir the pot:

We have a current man, who has driven our economy through the grd to all new lows. At this point I'd vote for me. It can't get much worse than what we have today.

At the next review of unemployment I'll venture to guess 6.3% and climbing. National debt to the moon, peoples cost of living beyond anything any one will ever see. Do you buy oil for heat or food? Middle class is the new lower class.

When the Dems took control 2 years ago they promised they would take care of all our problems. Must be they were too busy taking contributions from Fred and Fanny.

You guys are still pointing finger from both sides. Some things never change. It is both parties. Specifically the ones who have been there for decades and have lost the interest in listening to their constituents, but still keep getting voted in.

Maybe his cabinet can be compiled of the Harlem Globe Trotters.  He could also have pick up games on his new publicly funded out door basketball court next to the rose garden of the white house.

Right on Inuk, Dave Chapelle can run the craps games in the corner of the b-ball court and handle all the betting for the congressional pick up games that are sure to happen.

I was going to bite my lip and not say anything, but I just don't have that ability!

These last few post are not only racist, but down right rediculous. I know they were meant to be "funny", but really show a lot of disrespect.

There is absolutely nothing racist about the last few posts.  Just because the person we are speaking about is African American does not make it racist.  The post was not meant to be taken seriously and its unfortunate that some folks are just too serious.    Having said that, I am a huge Obama supporter, I have read his books, and have followed his campaign and will vote for him in 38 days.

I can dig what you're saying. The problem is, that many people people SERIOUSLY think this way. Far less than forty, twenty, or even five years ago, but still far more than we care to believe. I have heard some statements in all seriousness, from people I would have never imagined making them.

You're right spoon, people do think that way, however, I think we all have a pretty good sense of the personalities on this thread.  Reading Tippy's original post, and knowing his general nature from years of posting on this site, do you, or any body else, really think he was serious?  I think his, LDD and my intentions are obviously for the sake of humor and nothing else.

Do I think Tippy is a racist? NO, ( he's a Phlyars fan so he couldn't possibley look down on anyone else ). You're right, that most of us "know" each other well enough to tell who's serious, or not. Though I've been suprised by a few folks not always UN-pleasantly from this board in the past.

I love it when the Jacksons and Sharptons try to make race an issue in this election. Obama got 90% of the black vote over Clinton after the Clintons have been called brother and sister to the blacks. It also appears as though he will get 40% or more of the white vote. If there is a race issue it is the blacks only voting for a black and the Jackson's and Sharptons twisting arms of anyone considering supporting anyone but Obama. If the handful of self serving radicals on both sides would just go away there would not be a race issue worth talking about.

s, i know sharpton supports him, but i thought jesse jackson did not like him, was bad mouthing him in the press and causing a rift in his family because of his comments.  i think wherever jackson goes, he causes trouble.

Rap-- Jesse just got caught in an off camera slam of Obamas lecturing black parents which he apoligized for and committed to support his (Obamas)  run. Don't forget Jesse's son is the co-chair of Obamas presidential committee.

Don't forget Jesse's son is the co-chair of Obamas presidential committee.   this was the family rift i was talking about.  jesse ran his mouth again and his son told him where to stick it.  if i was running for president, his support would be the last that i would want.

S.

There have been polls where a suprising number of folks ADMITTED that they WOULD NOT vote for a black man.
If you don't believe racism still exists, you are blind, or never leave the house.

And I'll bet spoon there are polls done in the black community or the Latino community for that matter and how many said they would not vote for a white man.. No different..
Racism is alive and well in this country. As I am one of the most discriminated against races in this country. A middle aged single white male..We're on our own, No help for jobs,no help for school, which by the way makes me stronger as I OWE no one for what I am and have other than myself...

I think I will stand by that statement--without the self serving agitators continually stirring the pot for their own fininiacial or political benefit the issue would go away by itself.

There is no doubt there are a large number of African Americans voting for Obama just because he is black.  But to deny that there is also a large amount of whites not voting for Barack for the same reason is just silly.  Tippy and I where talking about this very thing recently, and he can personally attest to this being true.

Lets see--Over 90% blacks voted for Obama over Hillary (who was considered the Blacks friend). Over 40% Whites also voted for Obama. And who is calling whites racist.
