Right now there is a bumper pool table where my tying bench sits all winter...  I found an old foot-peddle Singer sewing maching (flip top) that I converted into a good tying station...  It wieghs a million pounds, but has a lot of drawers to hide my messes in...

Tuna...  Love the Jerry (and crew) picture above the bench...  NIIIIIIICE...

Bagged my whole weekend trip because of this wet and windy weather...  Gonna float the West Branch/Main Stem of the Dellie tomorrow afternoon if the weather permits...  I have a buddy who is dying to go, and my canoe has complained of being neglected the past three months...  This rising water might get the browns feeding- or it could blow us out...  I guess I may find out tomorrow...

But tonight it's off to the Berkshires to troll the wedding tackle...  Enjoy the weekend, fellas!

Cool fish and even cooler photo...  Is that an old Plueger Medalist on that rod?

Keepin' it real, eh Dan?  Sweet...  I used to wail on chubs and brookies in the Lisha Kill with one of those bad boys as a kid...

That is a really dark Smallie, huh?  Looks like he was down real deep all summer, or in a stained backwater somewhere...  Estaz Bugger in his lip, perhaps?

I could always tell where a snook was caught in the Everglades by photos or seeing one on the cleaning table.  Dark fish came from the 'inside' and magrove backcountry where the rannin in the water would stain the fish...  The birght and silver snook always came from the 'outside' on the Gulf of Mexico or in the Keys...  Less tannin and thus, less staining on the fish...

Never saw it on freshwater fish, but I am sure it would be the same...  Plenty of tannin in hemlocks and lots of stained water up in the ADKs in places like the Indian River or elsewhere...

Sweet photo, man!

Pflueger on a fenwick. My dad fished with this combo all his life. He may have got new rods and reels but always pflueger on a fenwick still to this day. Does make a nice combo.

I need to try tying again, lol i still suck at tying / need to  have the patients to learn some basic patterns for my area.. that would likely be blue wing olives and similiar dries. Here's one I might try learning.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9t_a2Z1dGA&feature=related

------- FORWARD THIS TO YOUR FRIENDS -------
Hi,

I wanted to draw your attention to this important petition that I recently signed:

"Save the Beaverkill Campground"
http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/savebeaverkill?e

I really think this is an important cause, and I'd like to encourage you to add your signature, too. It's free and takes less than a minute of your time.

Thanks!
--------------------------------------------- this is one of my favs early season,, the coverbridge is closed and i guess the state is struggling to maintain state parks with a history of recurring flood damage.

TU is having a spring flea market:
Mark your calendar! Clearwater Flea Market will be held the last Saturday in March (28th) at the Sovereign Best Western on Western Avenue. The hotel is located one mile toward Albany from the end of the Northway. It's a great opportunity to stock up on all kinds of fly fishing goodies, tying tools and materials, books and art work. It is also the perfect venue to sell excess or duplicate items that have accumulated over the years. Vendors table cost only $20 plus a 10 percent donation of sales. Additional tables are available at $15 each. If you only have a couple of items to sell, bring them to the Chapter table, or team up with another member. Donated items are always welcomed. Hours 8:30 to 1. Set up time 7 to 8:30. Call Bob Mead, 399-9000 or email at rmead1@nycap.rr.com for further information or to reserve a table

Hey good people!, got back earlier today from a 4 dayer.. tried the bk thurs cold am and alittle pm pepac resi cove shore fishing with zero hits. So I drove through to bk campground headwaters and nothing doing there either willow wasn't stocked either. guess last week in april or possibly this week. Anyway, trolled all three days later on the nev with slow action. two small bt about 16 inches both released to grow.. yesterday spooned a couple keepers for the grill tomorrow but it was work. Nice weather cept for sat. was a bit too windy. I was glad to see shore anglers cleaning up after themselves this weekend! that was cool to see more are starting to appreciate what we still have left!

well it is something that always was and will be at least for me in september.. I always find it difficult casting flies when the leaves are floating ..especially if it is really low streamflow..I tried both top and bottom and not much is happening. One more weekend and I get my 70 dollar nonresident renewallol
