Status: offline 		...fishing with your kids. Here's my daughter Ruby again, this time slaying bass, bluegill (and even a catfish!) at my buddy's pond yesterday. After a long, hectic work week, I can think of no better balm than an afternoon out on the water with my daughter. I always think that I'll be teaching her, but the truth is, she ends up teaching me far more- like why it's great to be curious about every little thing, how much fun a little farm pond can truly be, and most importantly, teaching me what's truly meaningful in life is time spent with loved ones. Anyway, had to share...

Well, I built her a 6 1/2' 3wt when she turned 3, but right now she pretty much has her run of whatever she wants out of my closet. This trip we used (this is so embarrasing) a Loomis Custom 8' 4wt, a Sage 9' 5wt LL+, and a Scott X2S 9' 7wt. Uh, I think we had enough gear...

Thanks for the nice responses guys- she is just my pride and joy- can't wait 'til my son is ready (he's not even 2 yet...)

As far as steelies are concerned, she's been up a few times- hooked 3 one morning on an upper reach of a stream, but lost them all in some trees- I think they startled her to be honest- hopefully this year will be the year!

She is absolutly precious!.  I'd love to be there when sh finally really hooks in to (and Lands) her first steelhead.   MY grandson was five and it looked like somebody fishing for marlin, feet braced, leaning back against the rod, cranking like mad,  and screaming "Get the net, get the neeeettt!"

Status: online 		ya my girls love to fish a 6yr old and a 3yr last year meander opened the gates for kids to fish my 6yr old knows what a rattle trap is one bass around 2# a northern pike and not sure what the third was but ill have to dig the photo from my other computer and she was using my 6 1/2ft spinning rod
