I fish the tributaries - usually last part of September to first part of October- much depends on weather & rain. Similar to Steelheads - Too hot - won't run! Too dry - won't run! Too much rain -streams blown out! Hit it just right - you'll have a blast!

Oswego river usually has some early action,or cast cleos from the piers if you want some mud shark action there is a large variety of fish available in the river at linear park easy access, or the west side walleye kings coho steel browns lakers little later nov,try it it is a blast. also no need to wait for ideal rains, niagara mohawk releases water from the varick street dam just when you hear the whistles GET THE HELL OUT FAST the water rises fast good luck koke.

You can drive down, drop your gear on the pier at the hydro-electric plant. Park up top and walk back down to fish. As I struggled to learn how to fish for the kings in October, watching the guide boats, I saw guys catching fish from the shoreline there. Somewhere around Devil's Hole I would imagine (north towards the Lake) should find the road access.
