Friday was a long wait, hauler ran a little behind schedule....

Rolled into Conneaut about 330pm with the boat...Bout 4pm we launched it in and took it off his trailer...

Apparently a float switch had stuck in the boat and low and behold both brand new batteries were dead as can be....After a buddy grabbed me a new battery I got to start it at the dock and rid the motor of any salt that was left in the system...

After a little bit of playing we got her placed up on her 9500lb Load Rite Aluminum trailer and headed back to camp....Was extremely impressed with the way all 8000lbs+ towed...I wouldnt be afraid to drag it to the end of the world really...

Brought her back to camp pulled the batteries and put em on charge...Installed new antenna, mounted the fishfinder head unit and pretty much called it a night with plenty of whiskey thrown around in celebration....

Awoke Saturday to some of the hardest rain I have ever seen...1" of water was covering my lot at 6am when I woke up...Bout 1pm it decided to quit and with some great help from Bluntman we were able to align the shaft which was incredibly out of wack.  Seems to be in good order....Thanks again for the help Doug, I look forward to being neighbors this year down Conneaut!

Sunday, looked over where to mount the thru-hull for the Transducer, pulled out the trim tab motor with is not working...

Back home now giving my CC another workout online getting some more essentials together for next weekend...

She might be ready for a test run as soon as next weekend....well see...

I took some pics but havent uploaded yet...It looks impressive on trailer

Glad to see that the problem was just a misaligned shaft....Easy fix than.....Hope every goes together well...The load rite trailers really are impressive....Never hauled a 27' on one but a 24' and they are smooth as can be....

Not 100% sure just yet on the alignment...all seems to be well and good though...

For a tow vehicle I have a 2500HD Chevy, and my dad also has a 1ton van...

Thanks to Bluntman I got squeezed into Conneaut...He and I are now neighbors...Be a whole lota ego and dead bodies on C Dock this summer....So that will be my summer home from now on...

Few other things...Windlass Fixed...New trim tab pump on the way...Boat Hooks and Mooring Lines ordered....This should be a productive weekend....

Don't let the green team discourage you.   Let us know how it works out when you get it going.  A lot of us have perpetual "two-footitus" and appreciate an unbiased assessment of boats and boating products from someone who uses it for the same purposes we do.

I think we have the issue solved with the tranny...

You'd never believe it if I showed you twice....the coupler was LOOSE on the transmission...I repeat it was out of line and laying loose on the transmission, very weird...I think the loose coupler was what i was hearing clunk while sea trialing the boat.  Everything appears to be ok now though...Moved the motor down and to the right probaly 1/4 inch...

They really must have thrown this thing together as cheap as possible to sell...I cant blame them really...

This weekends plans are to register and title the boat for Ohio, get the kicker mounted up, maybe throw on some rod holders, finish up the electronics and get her ready for the water...Might be in at her dock as soon as next weekend I HOPE.....I wish this guy would have done this deal with me a month ago..this all would have been done...Few other things need done, but Im just waiting to see what comes in the mail today before I leave for camp...

All I am missing right now is some good perch fishing...And I already have over 60 or so walleyes from Port Clinton in the freezer...If I have problems this year getting all set and ready its no big deal...Im sure ill get enough...

I refuse to have my money wasted on steelhead fishermen and half assed boating facilities any longer...So Im taking all my business elsewhere...PA can have both mine and every1 who fishes with me's fishing license as well as my boaters registration....They can take their "Erie Stamp" & "Trout Stamp" and well you know...

I do like fishing the waters around Erie, PA, but there is no way im going to make a run around the pennisula to fish down west (I know what Buckets and Fathead rack up in daily fuel bills, and thats not for me)...In all honesty you dont have much of a choice if you want a dock...you either have to go to Ohio, or fish out of Erie, PA...

Theres no difference down here except huge safe harbors and better fishing...

I appreciate all the positive comments....

I agree CB. Kind of sucks with all the BS pa has to offer. Other states make it so simple for fishermen and boaters. Hey you might start a following. you never know.

I wanta be a CB roadie.

I could sell some insense that smells like fresh walleye or night crawlers.

Some tie died Blades and Night crawlers that are in phsycadelic mush room manure.

Man I think we are on to something here

Carpet bagger, I have never dealt with Ohio. You said register and title your boat in Ohio. How would you be able to do that, when you show a Pa. Drivers License? Just curious! Had to edit! I forgot to say what a BEAUTIFUL boat.

Split,

The real thought behind where to title and register your boat stems from the place you plan on operating your vessel.

I have a dock at Conneaut...kinda pointless to have PA registration...

You do not have to be a resident of the state to title watercraft in the state where you intend to operate.  This does differ with motor vehicles as my trailer is titled and registered in the state of PA...

As for the updates....LOTS THIS WEEKEND...Sunday was cut short due to weather and the fact I had a funeral viewing to attend Sunday evening...

Boat registered, titled, and numbered with OH Letters...Yikes that was a Bill...

Got my dock squared up down at Conneaut...

Kicker bracket mounted and wired in...This thing is slick as $hit 16.5" of verticle travel.....I WAS able to thru-bolt it with 4 half inch bolts 2.5" long with about a 6" backing plate, stainless washer and stainless lock nut...You can do chin ups on this thing....www.BobsMachine.com

Auto Pilot installed...easy enough....

Trim Tab motor installed and operating beautifully...Guys who installed the original unit must have been on crack or something cause the main switch was all backwards...Even with color coded terminals they couldnt do it right...Motor on the old pump was shot...new pump solved all the problems

Thru-Hull Ducer Mounted....Found a good place on the port side just up in front of the engine...should get smooth water over it and get a good reading...just hope that 2.5" hole dont leak...lol

New bilge pump installed in the aft...Old one sounded like a meat grinder...

Got note my back drop canvas was finished up on Friday so that will be ready this weekend...

More issues found....Closed cell foam is used on either side of the deck is holding water...Water coming in from the gunnel mounted rod holders and just laying in 3 bays that are filled with foam up to about 2in below the floor joint...Not 100% sure how we are going to solve this issue just yet...I think trying to prevent water is going to be the ticket, dad wants to make it drain somehow...Well see how this pans out...

Not 100% sure about doing the shake down cruise on the 4th of July, but that might be what happens...Few minor things left to look over and I think she'll be ready for the water.....Last little puny things probaly going to take me another day...

We're getting close...and they are just pounding the walleyes....Its killing me!
