Did pretty good again. Started about 5:30 finished at 8:45. All in all about 25 fish. Mostly Sauger, a couple walleye, and a couple small stripers.
Because of the front change, really had to work 'em.

Another great night.

NEW BRIGHTON DAM,,,  ONE OF WEST PA. BEST KEPT SECRETS FOR WALLEYES,SAUGER,STRIPERS, EVEN THE MUSKY, BIG CHANNEL CATS.  I AM ORIGINALLY FROM THAT AREA  ( KOPPEL )   FISHED THAT RIVER FOR NEARLY 50 YRS., YES EVEN THRU THE POLLUTED DAYS FOR BIG CATS AND CARP.  IF YOU NEVER FISHED IT ,TRY IT.  IT WILL BECOME ONE OF YOUR MUST GO SPOTS.. NOW I LIVE IN WEST NEWTON I DONT GET THAT WAY MUCH, BUT STILL DO MY SHARE OF FISHING IT

Porktown: I know, she is pretty hot.

I decided to take a ride down to NB Dam today. Fished from 2 till 4 and managed 6 Saugers. 2 were dinks 3 were between 15" and 20" and the big one of the day was 21.5". I lost another real nice one and missed numerous dinks that were just grabbin the tail. Folks down there say fish have been hittin good last few days. One guy said that yesterday they couldnt get their jigs in the water fast enough. Most everyone around me was catching fish, all sauger or eyes. I saw one hybrid stripe come out too. Fishin with curlytails on a jighead. good luck, tight lines.

I.C.

Everything was from shore. Used 1/8 oz jig with different color tails. Sometimes 1/16 oz.

Good to see someone else posting about this area.
Let me know next time your'e going down.

I used to live in Beaver county and would fish here all the time, great place to fish.
If I make a trip down there I'm not sure I even know where bait shops are at. Is there still one in Bridgewater that you can get minnows and the such? If not, where are some others?

Googled this for directions.  Would appreciate some specifics.  Do you fish from west or east side?  From what i see it looks like the east side.  Do you wade or is this shore fishing only?

thank you

the bait shop in bridgewater has been closed for years,  theres one on 51 in fallston but he's closed on sundays, at least he was the two times i stopped.  you can only fish from shore on one side unless they allow you to fish the fallston side. its been a while since i fished that side and was told by the railroad police that it was trespassing.

you never know what you will catch when you set the hook.  i've caught 10 different species in one day.  as far as wading, i wouldn't wade that river if you paid me.  the beaver is not like the yough.  most fishing is done around the dam.

Had a feeling that bait should would be closed.

I used to have a lot of luck right below the Beaver and Ohio merge on the Beaver side, down in the "dump". Lots of places to fish from, easy access and seemed always to have good bites.

Don't forget that the Original Brighton Hot Dog Shoppe is just a mere block or so away. Nothing like chili/cheese dogs and some fries to enhance the trip.

*BE ADVISED* There are alot of snags there too. Along the wall there are trees jammed up to get hooked up on and on the bottom there is other stuff that likes to take lures. At least when you lose a jig youre only losing what like 50 cents?

Oh the hot dog shoppe, there's nothing like down 3 with cheese, chili and onions along with some fries. Take a milkshake to go and you're all set.

Did that train wreck that spilled all the ethanol hurt the fishing (Think that was last year or the year before?)
