One heck of a wreck at 3 laps to go.
Ryan Newman went for one heck of a ride!

To me it only goes to show the stupidity of NASCAR.  They want everyone to race together in a nice tight bunch.  If they want to slow the cars down let em drop the cubic inches down to about 5 liters (302), take away the restrictor plates and let them race.  It's become sooo bad I didn't even watch 90% of the race today.  I just checked in about every 20 minutes to see the standings.  Did see the wreck though.  Ryan Newman is a very lucky fellow.  If he hadn't come down on Harvicks' car he would have hit really hard.  If you see the replay look at how much energy Harvicks' car absorbes.

Then to watch Martin due a flip with one lap to go.
I agree they have to do something before it kills someone.

NASCAR wants ''side by side'' they got it. They also got on top of, and upside down. These guys are talented professional race car drivers...LET THEM RACE!  ''Safety is our number one priority" Horseshlt! Money is.

I was playing poker and just found and watched both wrecks. What do you expect with Nascar racing seeing it is made for TV and they want everything close so you do not turn to another channel.

Mika,
Smaller engines don't equal slower speeds. Morgan McClure Racing, back in their heyday on plate tracks w/ Erine Irvan & Sterling Marlin, ran smaller engines. Their engine dept. found out you could only flow so much air through a restrictor plate. They matched the flow rate to the cubic inches of the engine. They got better throttle response and better fuel mileage without giving up horsepower. NASCAR got wise to this and banned the engine. Thats why NASCAR now has a minimum & maximum cubic inch limit. Dale Sr. had the right idea at the plate tracks, get rid of the restrictor plates and move the fans back away from the track. Then we'll put a show on for yall.

I have to agree with acmaul there.  I'm a pretty good driver but the beltway at about 7 pm is scary.  The cars are doing 70 and some are doing 90 and then you throw in the occasional police chase or fire engine  wow!
