It is tough to be out there all day in archery.  The down times can be frequent.

I usually plan on a mid day move.  Gives to something to do and knowing that I have to sit for 5 hours instead of 11 works for me.

This time of the year I usually have my morning stands in funnels neer bedding areas and my evening stands closer to food sources that does frequent.

Hope that helps.

Even though I already shot a buck I have been spending some time in some of my stands hoping to get a whack at a doe.

I have found movement to be down a little because of the heat I think but I have managed to see three different shooter 8 points within 20 yards in the past three days.

There are cruising for sure.

I whittle in the tree. It keeps my mind occupied, and if its fragrant wood, ie sassafrass, it can work as a good smelling cover scent, not to mention, give you something to chew on!

I've read before.

PSP would be rough dude, I'd get to into it and an elk could walk by me.

Sometimes, I take the Game News with me and read that.  Most times I just suck it up and do nothing-tho this does sometimes result in me nodding off.  I've probably slept through dozens of deer passing me.

Shoot record book bucks and solve the worlds problems. My stands are small and simple enough to keep me from getting too comfortable to nod off. Years ago when I was undestructable and didn't wear any safety belts I nodded off in a big oak tree. You would be surprised how hard the ground is and how scary it is when you wake up as your feet leave the stand.

When I get bored, I start texting. Talk to the wife, family and friends. If that don't work, I lay back in my tree lounge and sometimes fall asleep.........and I wonder why I don't have a B&C yet........

Jesus, I don't use a harness, I'm mostly in climbers, sleeping.

Also, I Practice tying knots, I'm a beginner fly fisherman too, so I sit and tie knots all day.
