A game I thought of today while watching the spectacle that is Walnut Access in steelhead season. It's called "Nutz" and here's how you play.

Best played with 3 people, no more than 4 to keep from getting out of control. If alcohol were allowed, this would be a drinking game. Bring your chairs and sit in front of your favorite project water on a nice sunny Oct/Nov afternoon, much like today.

At the start of the game, everyone picks an angler and the players decide the boundaries. Each time your angle hooks up, legal or not, the other players have to take a drink. If your angler leaves the pre-set boundary, you are allowed to choose a new one. There are only two other permanent rules.

1. If your angler hooks up 3 times in a row without any of the other player's anglers hooking up, that player gets to make a new rule to the game.

2. If someone within your pre-determined boundary slips and falls, you have to yell "Nutz". Last player to say it has to chug the rest of their beverage.

Only when there is no place else to fish steel, which is usually only Sept when the lake is kicked up.

what if u guy hooks a fish in the tail brings it in bashes it on the head and puts it on a stringer? we can put my boat in and watch from the creek as we play. can this game only be played at the WALL or from man hole down.. and if my guy takes ur guys spot that a point or drink... and last what happens if they fight. or he pulls a gun????

WOW Smallhook! I hate to admit that I did some of that in the late 70's for Salmon. At that time, no office (except a wood shack), and they would have a cable across the road a little up from the stop sign hole. People would line up in their cars until fish comm. unlocked the cable in the morning. (I forget what time) Have not fished lower Walnut for about 29 yrs. Launched the boat but no fish'n!
