I would like to thank all those that helped float stock Musky in the Yough yesterday! Mike Horrell did an excellent job of coordinating this event. The PF&BC provided 1900 fingerlings and allowed us to float stock them from Whitsett, Cedar Creek, Buena Vista and Boston.

Not from the Yough but here is one from the stocking in Arthur a few weeks ago that my buddy sent me.

Didn't get many pictures because I was trying to stock fish and drive the boat.

Thanks for your help Dave and the kind words. It was really successful this year with the number of guys we had to help and we spread those fish out pretty good. Our fish pretty much looked the same as the picture that Rich W posted. The average size was 7-8 inch and there were some 5-6 inchers but also some up to 10" which I didn't see last year. Hopefully we'll see the fruits of this down the road in a few years. Thanks again to all who helped.

While on the topic, I live sort of near the Yough by the boston bridge. so I'm close to all these places stocked. A nice place to fish on the yough has been near coulter area of the river. I never targeted muskies while on the river and I'm wondering how you guys do it? On the allegheny there's more structure to target it seems whereas on the Yough theres not much..

Awesome! Nice work guys. I would love to help out next time. I floated upstream of there yesterday and despite the cold weather, I hooked into some really nice smallmouth and rainbows.

Used to fish the coulter area years & years ago, heck, it's soooooooooo long i probably don't even remember how to get there, i remember we used to park down by a church that was right there near the river & walk the tracks down some b4 we'd cut into the woods, it was a nice area.

any idea what the growth rate is for those musky's?

There are a lot of variables that go in to growth rate. The food source and water conditions will determine a great deal.
It may take 8 to 10 years to get fish over 40 inches. This is why we must practice catch and release.

It's still a good spot. We take our ATVs there and to Turner Valley. It's nice. You can wade out a little ways without even getting off of the quad.
