First trip info

Looking for some info on salmon fishing for the first time gear, line and any need to know on regulations. I've been up to Erie for steelhead a lot just never ventured up to NY yet. I know I'm going to need some stout gear to tangle with some kings hopefully. For steelhead I've always spin fished and drifted bait with a 8 1/2 light action with 4-6 lb. But I'm going to spin and fly fish this yr so info on both methods for salmon would be greatly appreciated.

    Just do a little homework and search the site and NYS DEC for regs.  This post was only a few down.
