Trout

Is it worth driving to elk for the first day of trout? Is there big crowds?

    Yup, it's a zoo everywhere, especially the more accessible places. I'm not sure what elk is like but I doubt it's as bad as inland stocked trout streams and lakes with 7-11" eating size stockers put in them. Hoping to be on the boat trolling for the big Troot on opening day myself to escape the crowds.

    Up to Erie from where? You pass a whole lot of trout driving anywhere in PA.
