is there a reliable source for steel stocking numbers for the last 20 years?

I landed my first Pa steelie in the late 80s
But really didn't get hot 'n heavy into the sport til the mid '90s
By late '90s, I was doing 40-50 trips a season (Sept to May) in Ohio and Pa
Continued that pattern til late '00s when i got into the pistol shooting sports/competition ..and that became my newest bestest girlfriend that got (and continues to get) most of love and time now

so I'm wondering, were the "boom time" steel hay days of 98/99 to '06/07 really the "anomaly" years, and what's been going on since '09 are really the "normal" times??

official recorded stockings records of the last 20+ years would shed some light methinks

You can go back to 2000 here: http://fbweb.pa.gov/stock...ilsHistorical_RFP.aspx

Just select Erie County in the top tab, and click "Go."  Gotta sort through all the waters, and a few different species.

2016 steelhead numbers are still low, as they add to the total as they stock.

Coldwater Task Group is chock full-o-good stuff
Thanks CKM
(Rsquare too)

C'Hook, no shooting fish.
I shoot 45 mostly
and I'm not sure I could even load a fish in the chamber without making a real mess....

..................................................................................................................................................................
doesn't appear stocking numbers declined
Nor does it show any pattern related to returns

example, a couple  low stocked years for Elk , one would expect a lower run 2 years later...but those years were some of the best runs

hmmmmm

One thing unrelated to steel I noticed regarding Lake Trout

Natural reproduction has not been documented in
Lake Erie despite more than 30 years of restoration efforts

Interesting

So if stocking numbers haven't declined over the years that means another issue is present for low number returns  ??? Walleye numbers appear normal year to year, Perch also. Both are prolific natural breeders, while 99% of Trout (Steel & Browns) are totally hatchery stocked. I'd say the mystery will continue until a good tagging program is established to track some of this information. Doubt that will ever happen, but clipping fins or something simple like that could reveal mounds of information for Pa. waters. Until then the blame will be pointed at what ever we fishermen disagree with !
