Steelies at Rt. 5

I heard steel at Rt. 5.  Saw a photo, so it is legit.

Thinking to stop by Athur and Pymie before I get up there.  Probably catch a few stripers first, then a few musky and eyes as warm up.  Might swing by Shenango to for a an hour to limit out on stripers twice.  Planning to set the alarm for 10AM, home by dinner.  I plan to C&R, heard that using a chain stringer helps to straighten the fish out to measure, will have to try.  Anyone know a good taxidermist?  Got a few in the freezer that need mounted.  Was thinking to use some rocks as a back drop for my mount.  Stopped by the local lake to grab some, and some kids were chucking them into the water.  Probably raising my taxes to pay for new ones!!!  Wish someone would speak up to these kids.  If only Sportsmans Warehouse were open.  Remember meeting a fine young lady there.  I think her name was Bobbi Jo.  Said something about wanting to meet up with her friend Jenna James at the Conrail Tubes, but something about a bear sighting.

Just sayin'

need to start out in the channel at walnut.  show them boaters that fishermen own the channel when the chrome is in.

when you hit the conrail tubes on elk, make sure yer packin' heat.  and don't worry about any posted signs - as long as you stay in the water you're good.

I heard the creeks are shark infested now!!!!!!

I did hear of a sharknado sighting during the last storm.  This is confirmation enough for me.

C&R only.  Sharknados only happen 2-3 times per year.  Can't be fishing them all out.  Especially with the state spending all their money on rocks.  Can't expect them to supplement.  Possibly transfer from Mt. Lebanon.  They are running rampant there.

Sweet, I ran into a couple guys this week that had just completed that circuit as well. One fella caught a 48" ski on 4# test with no leader.

Excellent post, POTY nomination.

I heard all the County Fair stores are sold out of Chapstick for keeping the ice out of rod guides and that Taki's is merging with Teresa's Lakeshore Deli.

well my standard leader for lake erie steelhead is a 75lb steel leader, so i would go with atleast double for the shark. I have some extra steel braided crane cable laying around id be willing to part with.

Nightmare combo is amazing. But the odors emitted as it digests tend to linger in one's waders.

But it does make the steelhead come up for air, so you can at least see them.

Teresa's tries to feed you to death for under $10.

Use a bar magnet fly for steel -- they are attached to the jaw every time. They don't call them steelhead for nothing, you know.

^^^^ Thats why you see so many blondes fishing with magnets on Elk and walnut, and they'll just say they're looking to collect debris of the bottom when the fish warden asks to see their license.
