Now just why would you tell everybody you caught that fish? You just put 100 guys on that spot, and all the mupheres, and eastern Europeans are gonna be comin up with their yellow ropes and blue powerbait and pinnerz to snag em all before they can get up to Manchester. Theres probably gonna be another ten miles of stream posted before the end of the year. Might as well not even bother comin up till January when the snow is fallin and ya gotta break ice with a tree branch just to get some fish. On second thought, if someone from the other 'burg is catchin em, it must be worth it now  Gentlemen, welcome to steelhead 2015-2016.

I'm hoping water levels look better this October, last 2 years have been low and slow during my trips. I don't have the luxury of an open schedule so I gotta go when I can. If decent levels don't come around I'm eyeing a trip to the Salmon river in Pulaski as an alternative.

Strong El Nino year, "experts" are predicting low rain and warmer temps for us through the Fall. Not the most ideal for Erie tribs, but who knows. They only go off of recorded averages over the past 30-40 years. Not really enough data to say that it will definitely be a bust. It is what it is, the fish will make there way into the creeks in numbers in October and November, if there is water in the creeks. If not, fish the shorelines, as they'll be there staging at the very least. They're more fun to catch in the lake anyway. http://www.weather.com/ne...noaa-update-august2015
