Pike at Kooser

I hear the pike at kooser are getting big. Was gonna head up tuesday morning and see if i can catch any. Should i take shiners or are they big enough to take chubs now? Also, Ive never targeted pike before so if anyone has any tips itd be appreciated.

    The minimum sized ones I caught this year were plenty big to eat a chub or shiner.  That said, they ate fathead minnows.  I'd say if you ONLY want big ones, and don't want bothered with other species, go ahead and go big on the bait.  If not, large fatheads would do the right thing.

    Threw some chubs out tuesday morning with no luck. Went to a zara spook on the top and got a few bass, but still no pike. Plenty of trout in there though. I'll be going back up next weekend, possibly sunday morning.

    I was out at Kooser again last weekend, fishing strictly for pike. I threw everything I had; zara spook, rebel pop-r, mepps musky killer, rapalas, jitterbugs, hell i even threw a scum frog out there. Nothing. Will try again soon. If anyone else has any luck post a pic up.

    We were there Tues. trying to get some golden shiners for bait,Trout wouldn't let the jigs alone.Besides I don't know how anyone could get a large fish through those weeds.  sam

    Those large fish are there because of the weeds...remove the weeds and watch what happens to the fishing!!
