I will check that out Gerry.  Went up and listened to the seminar, it was pretty good. It was not on fishing to pressured fish, but targeting older larger fish and fish in more difficult lies (usually older larger fish). Also a few less then conventional nymphing techniques and set ups that were interesting. Definitely got a few new ideas to tweak my current style.     There are definitely fish in the hatchery, a nice mixture of kings and ho's

Gerry I checked it out and it is easy enough. I was undecided on the hunting licenses as fishing usually comes first and I did not go hunting much last year, couple that with my surgery and no climbing trees for me this fall. I still may get it for the DMP permit that I can give to someone. I could get that online ad the fishing from the store as mine runs out next week and I cannot wait and no printer at home to print it.

Is it me, or did noone give kudos to Clint for rescuing a chipmunk on the river today? That has to be one of the greatest fishing stories ive ever heard.

Yea, if it had been an Erie trib, or down here on the Genny, it would have been used for bait!

Am I just being stupid or what.
There aren't any real fishie looking slicks in the riff at the hemlocks but is so shallow (2-5 feet).
I am thinking of tying up some BIG skaters and wasting a morning trying to get another rustface to crash the surface.
Or I could just tie some quick bucktails and swing for kings.
I'm an idiot right?

I'll give you a heads up on that tomorrow night as I might give that spot a try in the PM.

Had 3 nice 20" browns slurping just in film in a great feeding lane. They refused everything I threw at them and continued to slurp. Shoulda brought the 1/0 octopus black estaz flies.
We shall see if I can hook em ' today.
Oh yea , the crowds are terrible up here , tough getting a good spot :)

Tuna your doing it all wrong you need sponge. Sponge is the ticket to catching those hard to catch fish.

Nice tuna... They were probably slurping some tiny emergers. The few times I fished the ausable I had much success on simple single post wing emergers with a simple dubbed body and head. No tail. Size 20/22... Much success with mosquito dry fly also anywhere from 16-22 as well. Amazing how those beasts are interested in such little meals while at other times they'll crack a #5 rapala or a long shanked streamer..

Rainbows slurped my hook today. Knew that 1/0 was the ticket. Absolutely beautiful 81 degs and full fall colors

Yup, we're about 50% peak as well and I got quite some color working outside all day yesterday. Elk hair caddid on a 1/0 is my go to fly...lol

Salmon??? Don't know when I'm getting out but I've got a hunch that the big one is coming soon.

I just remembered that while pouring my coffee.
The last time I got my feet wet in the AUS. I also got my head wet.
My glasses and watch still swim with the fishes.
I swear I walked across that spot on the way to shore to retie.
I bet the Schmidt brothers set it up to trick me.
Or that Betters fella.

Striper trip was incredibly beautiful, felt like SoCal w/o surfboards. Even caught stripers. Out the door for freshwater shark, now. Hope they play along.
