Hinge cutting maples...

TIMBER!
Did some hinging of small maples in strategic areas.
Hinging is fun I dropped 200 trees(mostly small)I planned on doing half that but it was hard to stop.
I did it along property line and around stand where logical.
Food-Cover-and barrier in 1-after that firewood for me and mine-then up comes the undergrowth from extra sunlight.
Its a win-win-win!
Great way to season wood also keeps it off the ground and dry.
I know I am not the 1st to do this just putting it out there for those who have not done it before I put it off for last few years glad I finally got around to doing it.

from the looks of it very little for the deer to eat in those woods better off taking out  of the tree sprout group (multiple tree from one stump)will be better for everything then and increase your timber value

Yeah I understand what your saying.
But other parts of property has thick undergrowth.
Plenty of mature oaks and apple trees too.
Neighbors have ag fields and evergreens.
These maples were here and there all through the mature trees- just hinged them.
    More cover for deer now.
I bumped a doe out of 1 pile today where she was bedded.
