Shades beach launch

Planning to give this launch a try several weeks from now. Will be launching a 16 ft starcraft side console (60 hp main, 9.9 kicker). Fishing for smallies. I've never launched at this ramp before. Have always launched at Lampe. Mostly with my 22 ft boats, then a couple times over the past several years with this 16 footer.

Any info advice on shades ramp would be greatly appreciated. I am well aware of being cautious in those waters. I will only head out under the best conditions.

Thanks in advance.

Last time we launched there we needed a running start and had to raise the engine to break through the sediment in the channel. We launch in north east now. Your boat is smaller and lighter, but I haven't used that launch in over a year.

I launch their all the time but i have a Lowe stinger 190,only one time I couldn't get out of the dock area even with just the trolling motor down, boat hull bottoming out. With the ice and rainfall this spring you should have no problems. Its a very nice launch area.

Only launched there once, and I bumped the prop on something with the motor trimmed way up.  I just launch at Lampe and make the run.

Worst Launch Ever. Poor design, bad docks , shallow ramps . Ive launched there many times with my 14' boat. Hated it every time. But its right smack in the middle between North East and East ave or Lampe.

Until its completely redesigned by someone who actually knows how a good marina and launch should function it will forever be wasting money
