You're breaking my heart HT. lol

Troutbum I just got a alert from the NWS..... Already, they are speculating "there could be a "Big 'un" for somebody some place. My little piece of Penn's Woods could might maybe see some heavy snow too.😩

Some models are predicting a Big Event for Tuesday and beyond. It's early, but could be a large storm

March snow melts fairly quickly. I hope this doesn't screw up what was setting up to be another good striper season , which used to open march 15th , and now is April . Last yeas snowmelt was not a problem.
What ever happened to the April -may floods and I'd be breaking ice chunks from the tribs in my grandparents back yard in June ?

My snow thrower is gassed up and ready to go.  I never put the thrower away before mid April cause you never know when mother nature is going to throw a curveball our way.

Who can forget the nor'easter we got the last days of March in 1997 that dumped two feet plus.  That storm left me without power for four days.  I was melting 16 quart pots of snow so I could fill the tank to flush the toilet.  No electricity, no heat and no water (well) but I roughed it out with the dog.  My wife and kids went to my in laws in Dobbs Ferry NY.  My mother, who lived in Red Hook NY, had to be evacuated to the fire house.  My dad was terminally ill with cancer was at Rosary Hill, a cancer care facility.

Like I said, I hope this is a swing and a miss.  I'm ready if it isn't.

I gotta at least try and make it to the job . I'm expecting a 45 min ride in might take an hr and 10. Then the ride back will be close to 2 .
Generator is gassed and go, kerosene heater filled, wood piled, and propane tanks full . We shall see how things pan out

Stay safe folks

Clint it sure sucks to be you. lol.

Not really, during weather like this I was always glad to see and appreciated the salt shakers. Even when they were tandem plowing and holding traffic back.

Not a heavy snow as of yet in my neck of the woods with the wind swirling out of the East. Weather dude says heavier white stuff can be expected tomorrow.

I see by the radar East met West in central PA and I for one am very happy that I no longer make my living driving in that white stuff.

Remember fellas, if ya have to be grabbin gears on the highways and byways in this storm and ya come onto a saltshaker.... give em a brake. They're out there for you.

Thanks Clint.

Since I'm retired I have n't gone past my garage door this morning. We have about 12-14" on the ground and still snowing for another hour or two. When I go out to blow it off my big,LONG driveway I'm going to wear my neo waders for the warmth they provide.I have a Honda self propelled blower on tracks so it really blows the snow....a great machine!

Good news for my area of the Pennsylvania Wilds. We didn't get but inch or two overnight and the winter storm warning has already been downgraded to a advisory.

Some local areas could see maybe a total of 6" by 8 PM Wednesday.

NWS says storm shifted so some areas won't get as much as first thought while others will be getting much more.

Stay safe and keep warm.

We here in the mid Hudson region are getting pounded.  Wind gusts to 50 mph and snow coming in sideways with 20"+ already on the ground.  I wouldn't be surprised if we get two feet or more before Stella moves off.  Not looking forward to the clean up but as long as the power stays on I can deal with it over the next few days.

They closed I84 earlier today, shows how bad it is.

My house is about two miles south of I84 in East Fishkill on top of Stormville Mountain.  The higher elevation usually gets hit harder than down in Hopewell Junction five miles away.

Be safe everyone.

Darn sleet that came down with the snow really packed it down and made it very difficult to blow.I got about 80% of it cleared yesterday but now I must tackle the mountain of plowed snow at the bottom of my driveway that the municipal workers left me.....YUUUK!

Woke this morning to my fare share if snow for my little piece of Penn's Woods.

Can't say to what degree; light fluffy stuff blowing and drifting.

Part of my driveway is bare with nearly a foot covering a section between house and mancave.

Have to agree with Southern'91, gonna be interesting if the rains cometh, as forecast this Friday.

Snow has been horizontal most of the day and beginning to show signs of weakening.

Wind becoming very gusty, hitting 17 MPH before returning to a sustained 7 MPH. NWS just put out a alert that a additional 1 to 2" can be expected through 8 PM and winds can range from 15 to 20 MPH with 35 MPH gust.

I'm so happy, Spring begins in 5 days..... stupid groundhog!!!

I guess one could say; "The Ides of March, are upon us" and " have not yet, passed"

Dam, NWS not kidding and coudn't have been any sooner. Winds now sustained at 14 and gusting to 22MPH.

UH OH just got another âš

Whewwww... no severe weather expected for days 2 thru 7.😕

Surprised at the totals here. Probably 20 to 24 inches. Over the top oven the blower. Plow truck blew a brake line AND the return fuel line.  Lots of stuff leaking, but everything is plowed and clear.  It will be a job replacing all those lines the summer..........
