Secret spot seems like the all around gathering area on the water. Let's make it happen!!! Especially since jack's carpet cutting really paid off :)

Yup it's coming btdt... Looks like its staying east of the lake region and tug hill area. But I've seen frost as early as mid September... It can happen at any time at this point. It feels like fall today and I love it. Cold front cane in right behind yesterdays pounders and dried everything up already. Its absolutely gorgeous out. An evening river outting may have to be in store.

Have fun buddy! This weather pattern will hopefully start to show us what the chrome situation is. Dry pattern coming up for the next two weeks, although that can change, if it does stay dry we at least have cold nights to keep things healthy... Now let me get to gittin' so I can wet a line this evening! Toodaloo!!!

Gonna take a hike down the hill into the Genny this PM, see what might have nosed in on the rain and the chilling that should have happened going over the upper and lower falls in last night's 50's. Too late to drive north, maybe next weekend.

Weather has been nice.   a good batch of soaking t storms came through for a few hours yesterday. We got in the last of the second cutting Friday and unloaded it Saturday am. Dug 40# of taters Saturday got 2 more rows to dig so should have a bunch. Got about 3 face cord drug out, bucked up , split and in the basement today. Two more good days of work and I will be done and maybe start on next years a little.  on a side note we drove up to Turin Friday night to watch some football and the leaves are a turnin' on the tug. Wish I would have snapped a few pics

What a change! Smallmouth turned active in the mid-day with the cooler temps. Water temp has dropped in the Hudson-doesn't feel like bathwater wet wading.  What a gorgeous afternoon, glad i got to spend it on the water. Good luck to all who get out.

Nice charlie! I had a free pass to fish from 330- dark yesterday but opted out. Just didn't feel like trekking out and just the thought of fighting a salmon was tiring :)

Water temp is about to drop into the magic 50's! Sat. night can't get here quick enough. I just hope it doesn't rain tons from Sun. on- camping for 9 days straight.  Tarp helps, but it is nice to eat and hang out without wind and rain. I can understand the arm burn, Andy. Too much of a good thing....  I kind of felt a little nostalgic and sad feeling the summer disappearing, but the cold air  reminds me of STEEL!!!!!!  Seeya at the secret spot.  I hope Jack finds it as empty as the one great day we had it darn near to ourselves.  Got backing?

Yup, may hit high 59 mark tomorrow morning and yes I'd say sub 60 is magical :) Even yesterday i heard people talking about water being too warm saying thats the reason why theres no fish. 1 for 7 on saturday morning seemed like plenty of fish for me. Some of the larger runs ive seen have been during 70+ water temps... Not saying that's good but implying that fish will run when they're ready to run :) ...charlie you're spending 9 days up here?

Serve's ya right!  Pool, AC,  ice cold beer and ice cream-you'll survive.
Yeah, Andy, Selkirk from  the 27th through the 7th. . I decided to forgo the time I usually spend chasing stripers and give the river the full go. We take 2 vacations a year. One is our travel time in the spring, the other is fall, which had been split between the coast and the SR.

I have Sunday, Monday, Tuesday off, but have to be home by 6 each night. At least one day will be drawing wood, probably Sunday to miss the ''weekend'' .  Hopefully I can meet up with a few on one of those days

My niece used to work for the mouse.  They pay in mouse t*rds.  After 9-11 when there was a downturn they cut everyone's hours to the point that she could not make rent and said sayonara.  Lately they told many employees they would be laid off as soon as they trained their replacements.  Not a very worker friendly place.  That and the $100/day admission will keep me away (not to mention that ice cold beer in Fla is EXPENSIVE!)
