Tis the season wall fishers

From the PFBC report page ....

Fishing The Wall At The Walnut Creek Access

Anglers are again advised when fishing the wall along the channel at the Walnut Creek Access, boaters coming in and out of the channel have the absolute right of way over anglers lines. Angers are required to yield to boaters by completely pulling their lines out of the water as boats pass to avoid tangles in the boats lower units and out drives. Anglers not yielding their line are subject to citation. The question came up this past weekend, "But what if I have a fish on shouldn't the boat stop an yield to me?" The answer is simple, a fish in play simply does not override the boaters right of way and often because of channel depths and conditions, the boater may not be able to stop and wait for a played out fish. Tangled lines can destroy out drive seals and in some cases cause thousands of dollars in damages. An angler causing such damage to a boaters out drive can also be exposed to the cost of repairs. It should be considered that the Walnut Creek Marina Channel was designed as a pathway for boaters in and out of the Marina. The fishing opportunities along the wall became a byproduct of the original design. Although not a law, boaters exiting the channel are asked to sound horns to alert anglers that a boat is coming through the channel. This is a courtesy, not a law.

NO!  "Outlaw fishing north of the Marina entry with anything less than an Orvis rod/reel combo with 5# test and a 5x tippett and dry flies" is elitism.

I'll predict some wall fisher will foul the wrong prop or impede the passage of the wrong boat one day and fishing the wall will be banned. Old saying - you don't know what you got till it's gone!

Hillbilly,  You might care to note that my posting said north of the MARINA Entry, not the channel entry.  So therefore, even though my post was a joke you are still incorrect.  It is very possible to fish north of the Marina entry, in the channel, with a flyrod.  And quite productive too, if you know how to fish a big streamer.

Honestly, you all crack me up!!!

I am an avid fisherman and I read this forum daily. I decided to join this morning just because you all are a bunch of COMPLAINERS! Every fall season, you complain and bicker about "wal-nuts" yet you all love to catch them steelies just like everyone else. Honestly, just suck it up and go out and fish whether it is on walnuts wall or wading up stream. We all love the sport and really does it matter where we fish or what we use to fish (fly or spin).

I know there is going to be sarcasm with this post but you all need to look in the mirror and get real. Don't cry if the "wal-nuts" are catching a majority of the fish that sooner or later will end up stream. They might be a little skittish by the time they see your flies or offerings but think of it this way...you are the "dumb-****e$" that are going to wade in frigid water trying to catch and release a fish. At least those warm, cozy "wal-nuts" will have a chance to lye down their rod and take a sip of warm coffee or a martini. Get over yourselves! We fish to relax and enjoy the sport! So quit complaining or just quit fishing! You non-intelligent dumb-****e$ that wade in 3" of water are the ones we should laugh at!!!
