Fishing with my son-fish on!
I fish the Salmon river Sunday after noon and my 10 year old son landed one on an egg sack behind the yankee angler fly shop in the first 20 min. Missed 6 or 7. Monday went with Guide Mike and did great. My son landed 6 and one was fouled hook. He used a spinning rod and a flyrod. Mike had me use a center pin, which was a first. Landed a 12 lbs. steel head on a egg sack and let her go unharmed. Sunday night went to Douglaston run and My son landed a nice female steelhead which was let go unharmed. I saw alot of fish everywhere. and only afew lifter-snagger. Monday morning there were a few guys snagging steelhead with a lot of lead and red sponge. That made my son sick. But over all it was a great trip. My second year with Guide Mike which is now 2 for 2 with me. Yankee angler fly shop was a big help with which flies to use and my sons spinning rod set up.
I wish i started using a guide 15 years ago.
