I'll bet ya they already have but they'll be gone before daylight.  If a few haven't, they will in the few nights.   Usually the 3rd week of August there will be one or two chillin' in the daylight.

How big of a steelhead pattern should I use to catch burbot?    It will be one heck of a streamer to throw on a flyrod, but may be worthwhile.

I'm with silverkype on this one, I'm sure a few have already started to show up at night.

Give it another week or two and we'll probably see them start to show up along the wall at Walnut.  There will be fish in the tribs by labor day as usual, regardless of air/water temps.

So what's the earliest anyone has ever caught one in the streams at the start of the season?  My earliest was August 22 of '04.  There were two that I saw swimming up past the stop sign hole and managed to catch one that was around 22" or so.

Not the earliest but my latest steelhead this year was July 2, Walnut stop sign hole, while fishing for smallies.
