This fall/winter, do you plan on making more, the same or fewer trips to fish the tribs for steelies?

Personally, I will probably travel/fish a little less compared to the past years.  I'll hopefully be able to fish go 8-10 times, up until the first of the year.   Of course there are many factors to consider; cost of gas, lack of free time, stream conditions, etc.

What about you?

I hope to make some more trips this year bc a few of my friends are going to try it this year and you know they will be hooked. However my wife is pregnant and due in Feb so not sure how many trips I will be able to do around that time.

Instead of making "more or less" trips this year - I hope to make longer trips to maximize my fishing time versus the economy of getting there!

Beer,
Way fewer.  Back is not especially good and the drive tears me up.  Doesn't do much good to drive 500 miles and then have to lay in a motel room for a full day to recuperate, does it.   But I sure will try everything to make it up for the "One Fly"  and if I can't Bughawk and Skip will make it happen.

Reading this is killing me, I just found out yesterday that I a partial torn Achilles Tendon. This Tuesday I will get a MRI and Friday I will find what the Doctor is going to do.  He said there is a good chance I'll be in a cast for at least 6 wks then therapy.  This would be the best scenario, meaning I could be down longer. I'm hoping he's a quack and it's something else like a broken bone. I weigh over 200# can anyone carry my fat a$$ down to the tubes on Walnut?

I'm planing more this year compared to last year.

Last year was an off year for me though.
Work schedule or weather limited last years outings to less than a dozen trips

I hope to get back on my minimum of once a week and more often than not, twice a week trips that I've averaged for the last umteen years

Got a new truck and every weekend off now so I'm gonna try to go as many weekends as I possibly can.  I'd like to go on some weekdays when the pressures down but it will be tough to get out of work.  I have a couple buddies that go with me so we can help each other out with gas and food.

I don't care how much gas is, I'm coming up as much as possible this year. 5 or 6 times maybe more who knows??? Its my first time with a fly rod.

Probably more.  I plan on fishing as many days as I can afford.  At fifty years of age (I turn 50 Oct 16) I figure I only have twenty somethin good years of trib fishing in me, God willing.

We made 13 overnighters last season. This season should be about the same, but some will be two nighters. With my dad passing away, it's not going to be the same, but life goes on. My first trip up should be the week of the One Fly, unless things pick up before that. Our September trips have been frustrating, with the low water. We were up last season on Oct. 2nd and 3rd, and did OK, but the trip after that was when the rain finally came. All those fish that were stranded at lower Elk decided to start moving and start eating. What a blast.

probably less - just don't have the punch as when I was younger. I'll just pick my days more carefully. With retirement in about 9 months, I'll certainly be on the big pond more in the summer (easier on the back and the table fare is better tasting).

More. The big boat never left the the yard this year. I have the dock fees and gas money in a slush fund to finance a few longer overnighters this year.
