Is there anyone willing to give me some tips on bait/lure/location? (a PM would be prefered if your willing to share)

Bass preferably.

Im told there is a healthy population of Saugeye in there too. Ive never caught one thou so i dun really know how to fich for them.

Pretty much just looking for a fun day fishing, and trying to avoid the small panfish.

Cross Creek has a great shad bite and is perfect for flukes in the weedy east end (tough to fish real well from shore).  Actually flukes work great anywhere on the lake.  Crankbaits on the wood are always a sound producer.  If you fish the low light, top water can be absolute poison in the coves.  I have thrown several top waters there and always found a pop'r to be about the best.  If you fish the east end, stick with a buzz bait or buzz frog and that should serve you well.  I don't think I would concentrate on the Saugeyes from shore at this time of year.  If you manage to catch one, you will have had a productive day (from a boat, that would be a different story.  Good Luck.

I am an avid walleye fisherman, but have had a pretty hard time catching Saugeyes in Cross Creek.  Any tips would be appreciated.

Pulling harnesses in the channel is always a solid bet.  There are a couple of old timers that crush them trolling hotntots (really need to know the lake for this, due to a ton of deep snags).  Most of the Eyes I pick up are earlier in the season and I get them on crankbaits or small minnow baits while fishing Bass and Crappies in the wood.  That said, I have caught several from the lake and a couple that were quite noteworthy.

A good bet this time of the year is drifting crawler harnesses over around the rock rubble humps in Thompson Hill Bay.

I was at cross creek yesterday. I caught a small Saugeye yesterday while fishing for panfish. It was only @ 6" long. Forgot my camera. i normaly leave it in the boat. I hear that drifting the deepest part of the lake with night crawlers works well. I was marking alot of fish yesterday. It was a beautiful day.
I allways did well from dam. Alot of rocks for bait to hide.
