I recently installed IE 8 Beta version. It appears to have a few improvements, but at the top of my screen a message says "IE is currently running with add-ons disabled." It says to click here to manage, disable, or remove them. I'm not sure what to do next. Anybody else have IE Beta 8?

I use the Safari browser made by Apple. I'll probably never open another version of IE. You should check it out.

Mozilla Firefox. I'd never use IE again.

I run firefox.  On a mac.  safari is better then IE, but firefox is another league.  When I was running a PC, I set the security settings as high as I could on IE, disabled as much as I could, and set forefox as my default browser.  Never had another problem with web browsing.  Still don't on the Mac, but there wasn't much concern in the first place.

thanks,
rick

Firefox is a great system with no attacks now in a long time by hackers or idiots trying to kill your computer.

Beerman, to actually answer your question.  enable the add ons, if there is a problem you can disable them later.  IE8 is the best browser I've used.  There are a few  bugs to work out, but the features are better that the other browsers, and yes I've tried them all.

Thanks for the tip, Pappy! With this new browser, when making a reply
on this discussion board now, there is no spell check....or is there?

There is a spell checker. Look at the top of the box where you type, you will see the icon ABC with the check mark. You have to click it then on ok to download the spell checker. They give you five different ones. Which to download have no idea, haven't done yet. They call it ieSpell.

Beerman,  I never use the spellcheck so I didn't notice until now, but I do have the spell check with the ABC. It's on the same line with the font face and next to the quote tag.  Hope it's on yours too.

Google chrome is the ticket, its more then stable enough.

Its a true multi threaded browser, meaning it uses different processes for individual languages. The same process generating the html is not generating the javascript. This in turn means it loads faster and in the event of a crashed tab/page it doesnt kill the whole browser, just that tab.

Google is the new microsoft. Best part is, they microsofted microsoft...."We will never develop a browser just to develop a browser"... sounds like... we wont develop a browser. What they ment was...when we develop a browser, its gonna blow your socks off.

It should be available but may not be a shown command.
Try right clicking on the menu bar and then page down or point to  "Customize Command Bar" then page down to and left click "Add-Remove Commands"
It should be there.

Yes, this is the icon I was looking for. Big thanks to JLH42581 for the tip Google chrome. What an excellent browser! I feel I have a new/faster computer now. I've tried Mozilla and Foxfire, but this one is much better IMO. Also, I now have an automatic spell checker that underlines in red those words that aren't spelled correctly. Thanks to all that helped! Trust JLH42581 and download Google Chrome.
