I wanna know why people think that if there is no room left on the banks of 20 mile creek at the chute that it is perfectly fine to just wade out and stand right in the middle of the chut just to catch a steelhead and ruin all of the fishing for everyone else. I was trying to fish on Saturday morning in the chute when 3 guys waded out there!!!! The fishing couldnt have stopped faster than that. Man that really irritates me.

Steelie, Here are some of the replies you are going to get. 1.Did you say something to them? 2. If you said something to me and my crew we would have thrown you in the crick. 3.why get irritated, just look at the pretty leaves and enjoy. 4. you don't own the creek. I would have scared them off with my 357. Very few will say that those guy's were some ignorant A** H***S. Just telling you since you are new that you will get pounded for just about any opinion you have. good fish'n

yea ive been reading this forum for a while....i just decided to join today...but it really does suck when you have 3 guys just walk out into the chute while you are fishing in it

Generally, all you would have had to do is tell them that the fish were using the chutes and wading in the middle was going to shut down the pool. If they persisted, there really isn't much you can do (even though it sucks). Move on, tell them thank you for messing up your run and go fish another stretch or creek.

Would you scare the police away with your 357 too?

There's nothing you can do but ask nicely. This is the reason why I'm waiting till late October to even think bout going up.

i dont agree just b/c ur new to the site dosent mean ur new to fishing the tributaries in the falli m 20 yrs old and have been doin it for 11 yrs now and i just joined the site 2 weeks ago so dont gimme that ur gonna get pounded for his opinion i would just tend to leave the a**h***s alone and no... im not calling u 1 either

Yeah, that does suck....no ediquette I guess. I definitely would have said something politely....maybe(POLITELY). Another thing I just love is when I see guys, which I saw a ton of this past weekend, wading into a stream up to their chest when the stream is half the width of my house!?!??

A simple pitch and you can get your presentation to the other side... I guess they just want to get their moneys worth for those fancy SIMMS waders!

That always, always works... and yes I am being serious. Once they leave, usually those type hang for 10-20 minutes and they move on, back out and begin fishing again. In 20 minutes the pool will calm down and they will start right where they left off.

What your find is a thought that exists that basically thinks. That if I have waders on I must get in the water at all times or F them I bought a lic. just like you and I don't care.

artriculated patterns with tandem 2/0 saltwater hooks usually fix those kind of situations....

The guys probably just didn't understand how to fish that particular kind of water. I find myself wading too deep in skinny water all the time. I've fished the Yough hard for the last six months and it feels like I need to be in water at least up to my waist. I found myself getting a little deep yesterday, I guess I need to start re-adjusting to the skinny water myself. I had guys step right in front of me yesterday, all day. I used to get mad about that but unless I'm smackin `em on every cast in that spot I could care less. The best thing that could happen now is LOTS AND LOTS of rain to spread `em out so I can fish where I want to fish.

I was at 20 also, went in around 6:30 or so and most people were at the mouth and lake. The water had went back down faster than expected, therefore fewer fish in smaller areas. Standing on top of each other is going to happen. BTW I lost a small fly box, tan bottom, had some streamers, wollys and some crystal meth. I think its a permanent part of the lake now. We left before 10. I think there were more fish south of rt 5 than by the mouth.

It happens like everyone said, just get used to it. Chances are those people just don't know how to fish like 3/4 of the people that are out on the tribs anyways, it's hard to fault them and even more pointless to cause a scene about it....just move on and find somewhere else to fish.

Write it off to ignorance, especially if you don't take a second to educate. When nobody is catching anything within the next 15-20 minutes on a hot spot, just remind him what you said. A little IPC skills tends to go a long ways. If it turns out that the " ignorant" become the only ones to catch fish, mostly foul hooked, look for the rippin' liftin' linin', etc. If it's there, pull out the phone, show it and dial. They start getting frisky just remind 'em it ain't worth an assault charge on top of it. You'd hate to see them lose thier right to bear arms { hunting } because of a felony VS a game violation.
