Sorry storm warning but I've caught enough bass and pike to keep me happy until spring.  It's time for the leaves to change and the steel making my reel scream.  Plus there's nothing better than relaxing and watching some college football on Saturdays if I'm not fishing.

There's nothing wrong with that carpet bagger.  In between the steelhead insanity we'll try to bag a nice buck

COME ON FALL!!! STAY AWAY SCHOOL!!!! I love fall not because of the temps, but the fish, I personally like HOT weather. But when fall comes that means school. But I try here and there to sneek up and get some weekdays to do some steely fishing just about 2 times a week.

I've been chomping at the bit, for the fall run of albies, bonita and mahi. Won't be long now and I'll be NY to chase some salmon and in the woods to chase the deer.
Come mid sept, our bow starts and the deer hunting continues till mid feb.. More meat in the freezer.

Don't mind the football and especially hockey, but you can still have your drag scream in summer offshore or up on the O to the north...

Read your PMs/Email 'Moose.

The new record for Rainbow Trout was broken by Rob Wilson of Tallmadge, Ohio on August 14, 2004. Rob was fishing out of Olcott, NY when he caught the fine specimen that weighed an amazing 31 lb, 3 oz and was 39 inches long. The girth of the fish was 26 inches. The fish is now the new state record, beating out the previous mark set by Gerald Szmania by five pounds.

Luvin' it all duuds.  Right after fall is ice fitchin', then spring, then were right back here again.  I don't think I could be as happy living anywhere else, we have the perfect change of season if you ask me.  Maybe get rid of a few days that are over 85 degrees.  And have a more consistant, longer ice season.    That's why time flies, always looking forward to the next season coming up.

not only a hall of fame angler and hunter, but a poet too?

john, how do you stand the mosquitos in the early season?  everytime i tried, the chased me out.  have to admit, every morning when i wake up, i ran to the window to see if we had a frost.  my camo and steelhead rods look sad where the are waiting.

Get yourself a ThermaCell and you'll not have to worry about Mosquitos again .. unless you run out of the fuel used to power it.  I swear by the ThermaCell and have gotten plenty of use out of the one I bought a few years ago.

Are u talking about Ontario storm warning.  If you are I just got back from there a few weeks ago.  The bass and pike fishing was phenominal.  I still like catching my steelhead though.

I am anxiously awaiting trip to the north on Labor Day weekend.

Day 1 of the LOC Derby is today and there is already a 30 1/2# King, 2 x 29s, and 2 x 28s on the board...

Steel offshore while 'eye fishing on Erie is fun.  There is NO COMPARISON to BIG Kings on the O though.

Storm - we're heading up there that weekend too to fish the LOC.  Where are you launching out of?  We'll be at the Oak.

BTW - big fish in the tourney is now 35.12 lbs. and to even be in the top 10 you've gotta have a 30+.  Not to mention a 17 lb brownie in that category.  I could sure use that $20K.... just looks like you might need a 40 lber to get it!

I know what you mean IUP.  I have been watching the leaderboard intently since last Friday and it has been fun to watch!!!  Steelies are a little disappointing, but there is a TON of derby left.

We will be at Olcott, Friday night thru Monday mid-day.  Just like Olcott because I can easily move and fish Olcott or the structure rich Bar area (not to mention its a fair bit closer).

Been watching the reports???  There are a few flasher/fly combos that have been shining above the rest.  PM me, if you want the skinny.

Ya, the fall is my favorate time! Mika is etching to get after those birds and I,m excited about smacking a steel! A good time of year for sure!
Never have too much trouble with the bugs but when I do I just spray myself down. I also hunt early and late so it isn,t too bad, especialy when they are locked and coming in!
