Just wanted to see if anyone has spotted any Hexagenia mayflies along the rivers.  I've been wanting to fish them for a long time, just seem to miss them every year.

These are the bugs that closed down the Kittanning bridge (I think) last year and cause mass hysteria at Pirate games every year.

So, any sightings lately?

Yeah they have been out for almost 2 weeks on the allegheny river.  Fish have been going nuts for them huge mayflies and ducks have been hammering them too.

Yes, they are out on the Monongahela.  Saw bunches of them today (Tuesday) in Elizabeth when I fished for lunch.  When I pulled up to the Youghiogheny to fish tonight one landed on my windshield and I was cursing myself for not bringing along my camera, I could have got a heckuva shot.

How far up the yough do these things get?  I'm floating on Friday and may make plans to go a bit lower if there is a chance the big bugs will be down that way.  Thanks guys!
